I'm going with the team that's never lost a Summit League Tourney game..... Go Yotes! Me too.....14-0 That's impressive. It really is. I hate to see it come to an end.

I expect a real battle. I am impressed with Amy Williams and her team. They have stepped up and match up much better than SDSU did against IUPUI. IUPUI is a tough team to play against. SDSU lost twice to them.

Looks like Stu Whitney is pushing for Editor of The Collegian with his article in the AL.
"USD's improbable run to today's Summit finals" "a Cinderella scenario for the Coyotes" "(USD) silently seething at the adulation being bestowed upon their neighbors to the north" "If the Coyotes pull off a staggering upset"
The only thing he's missing to be Jackrabbits cheerleader is the skirt and the pom poms, or maybe just the pom poms.

That's impressive. It really is. I hate to see it come to an end. I admit to not being a big womens bb fan but that is an impressive record. As far as the game, anything can happen....

LOL at Stu being a Jack cheerleader, not even close As much as posters here whine about the lack of coverage by the paper,i thought you would be happy with a 4 page article. Guess not. By the way, what did Stu say that was incorrect?

I read Stu's article, and my main thought is "USD is getting the Stu treatment, now."
The man's got a gift.
I guess.

Good luck to the Yotes today--should be a great game! For those that haven't watch the highlights of yesterday's game that are posted by USD SID on Youtube, you should: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ip8pufrEWDkMajor compliments to Rod Pattison--his commentary and enthusiasm add a lot to these highlights and to the radio broadcast. I've seen some people decry "Kaboom", but I love it. I was watching this with someone who doesn't visit this board, and she literally said, "Is that the radio guy? He is awesome." As someone who would like to more big-time all-out enthusiasm around Coyote athletics, RJ's calls here are music to my ears.

My post is mostly for fun, Stu is obviously a professional and quite good at what he does. And yes it is good to read about the Yotes front and center.
It will be an upset, but only staggering for the Jackrabbits. Improbable (I'll give Stu the benefit of the doubt, that he was talking about the heavy injuries the Yotes had to overcome) run to the Finals. (We were a 3 seed, that handily beat the 2 seed), what's so improbable. Cinderella??? Really... that means there must be an ugly step-sister involved.........Oh now I get it. I think I speak for most Yote fans, we are NOT seething about anything that State does, we might seethe about the arrogance that goes with it. But we know that there is very little that State has accomplished in their 4-year head start, that the Coyotes won't accomplish soon and very soon!

Congrats on a great season Yotes! You team really played us well, but in the end fell a bit short. I have a feeling this might become an annual tradition. We will definitely see you here again.

I haven't been this proud of a Coyote team for awhile. They overcame so much and made USD so-so-so proud this afternoon. It was a loss but this Women's team is probably now on even term with SDSU considering experience, fan disadvantage and so forth.

A bit more on the game. the USD fan turnout was pretty good but not as good as SDSU. It was probably somewhere around 2 or 3 to 1 in favor of SDSU but USD outcheered them about 2 or 3 times to 1.
This women's basketball team has kind of been our savior for much of the last 10-20 years. No difference today. They played so much under control today and didn't let the Jack crowd rile them. The officials royally screwed the Yotes today. I kind of feel like an us against the world feeling. The Argus, NBC, CBS, 90% of the state newspapers were sitting in the piss and blue section along with Terry V, Midcontinent, the Sf Sports Authority blah, blah blah, oh and of course the officiating crew as well. Than there was the highly spirited red section containing the P&D and that was it. The Yotes had so much against them and put out a winning performance today. It just wasn't meant to be but Women's basketball at SDSU is no longer the dominant force in South Dakota Women's Basketball. The Coyotes are gonna be no worse than the #2 seed next year. The sky is the limit right now.

I just want to say a big thank you to RJ for your radio broadcasts this season. I wasn't able to get to the Summit tournament because of work but I was able to listen to the games on the radio and I thought RJ did a fantastic job. It is so much fun to listen to a broadcaster who is passionate about the team he covers.

He keeps you informed and its hard not to share in his excitement. And, I believe he has cleaned up the over-the-top "bad ref calls" stuff. Thanks RJ for your part in a great year for Yote WBB!
