For those that wish to take sides against me and FOR some of the SDSU posters on here I just want to let you know that when I am at games I have the Yotes back and will always have it so nobody should ever question that. I cheered my ass off today along with most of the other Coyote fans as well. It was a very proud day to be a Yote and not be Jack fan. They can have their title but along with it some shamefull behavior to go along with it.
I sat with several Yotes fans around me and several Jacks fans behind me. It was amazing what they would whine about. Every call was a travesty against their team but when the Yotes picked up fouls you didn't hear the same cluelessness. I usually don't complain about the officials but the stripes cost USD this game today. Of the last 8 fouls 7 were against the Coyotes. We are talking crucial possessions where Yotes were getting mugged and no call. Same thing other end a wistle almost every time in favor of the piss and blue. It's kind of ironic that those that like to rub it in were not in the arena celebrating with their own team. Lame barely begins to describe that choice of behavior.
I honestly believe the Yotes were the slightly better team today but the Jacks shot 10 more free throws. I believe I heard RJ say that USD made 5 more field goals than did the Jacks.
Some younger fans of the University of the Piss and Blue State College were standing in the entry way of the convention center which is basically a glass door away from the arena lobby chanting "screw the U, Screw the U" over and over again as dejected Coyote fans walked by. I let them have it a bit about their shamefull behavior. I really don't mind it when it's in the arena during a game but to purposely just rub in a loss like that into our faces is gutless IMO.
As people know I will stand up for the Coyotes because I love the Coyotes. I am also hard on the Coyotes because I love the Coyotes but I just want people to know that by your belittling of me, you are belittling someone that will stand up for USD in the face or many people that may not like USD and in the face of adversity. I just wanted to let people know that that draw conclusions based on what other people say. As I said, I had the Coyotes back today.

I'm shocked you would get facts wrong....shocked i tell ya.

I am wrong about the fouls and will admit it. I will always admit when I am wrong. That doesn't change the poor behavior by a group of Jacks fans which was the point of the topic. I would never join a group of people and rub it in like that, even when I was in college I wouldn't. Íf the Yotes had won the game than the chant isn't as big of a deal to me. It's a dileberate attempt to rub it in. Karma will be a bitch some day, and that day is getting very close. I am big time proud of the Yotes today.

CF I'm a 1000% Coyote fan and been a Coyote fan for over 46 years so two points--First you didn't like some State fans' attitudes after the game and yet you show poor sportsmanship by denegrating the other teams's colors in your post. Secondly, I've been a ref for years so a few points that are usually obvious to most fans--refs are closest to the action, need to make quick calls, often huddle on a close call to try and make sure they get it right, know that they'll always be half wrong as judged by some of each team's fans, virtually every fan has a different angle than a ref does, etc.... Refs are certainly not perfect any more than coachs, players, fans, etc but do try to do their very best. It is always entertaining to me that if a call goes in a team's favor they are great but a few minutes later if it goes against that team then they are biased or lousy. CF your heart is usually in the right place but your foot is usually in your mouth. I recommend another ban.

Really proud of the fight and tenacity of the WBB team and coaching staff this afternoon. If the entire SD athletic department fought the way that the WBB team and Track Team fought - it would be transformational.
SDSU WBB is going to be for the USD WBB team what the NDSU FB team has been for the SDSU FB team. A solid program you can set in your sights as a measuring stick for improvement.

I expect it will be SDSU/USD for years to come. Especially if the U can keep this Coach Williams around. She's excellent.

I was also at the game today and overall was impressed by both universities fan bases. Where I sat I felt both sides cheered for their respective teams, and were respectful of everyone around them.
That being said I have never heard in years past all the rotten things SDSU fans said USD fans spewed at games in the Dome. But they insisted it happened so I guess maybe it did. So when CF says there were students talking trash at Coyote fans after the game, I believe it happened. In the SDSU fan board world, there is no room for such inexcusable behavior so that's where CF is coming from.
So in the words of some of their posters that kind of behavior is just flat out wrong. I'll defend CF on this one.
In closing, both sides had a right to be proud today. It was a great game in the sense of what a rivalry game should be. It was two heavyweights exchanging blows. USD came up a little short but they should hold their heads up high. Thank you Coach Amy and to the entire team. You made me proud today. Me and 100's of others. Thank you for a fantastic effort.
And to you misbehaving SDSU fans, shame on you. That's terrible ( tongue in cheek )

I'm sure those fans weren't as bad as that tub of jelly in blue paint dancing behind Nagy when he was doing his ESPN interview tonight. Holy crikee, get some Slim Fast, son. Sure you made Ma & Pa proud back home on the farm. Luckily they probably missed it since they probably haven't gotten into that electricity fad yet. Big thanks go out to the ESPN producer who told him to get out of the camera shot.

Coyotefan is correct.
Following the game I walked out through the glass doors into the arena concourse and there was a contingent of about 30-40 Jacks fans, mostly students, who were shouting Screw the U and singing "Hey, Hey, Good Bye."
Part of that is to be expected from dumb college kids, but another part of winning is to act like you've done it before. State has certainly won their share of women's Summit Tourneys and I too found it distasteful after such an emotional game. I made sure to walk past the heart of the contingent and said "Hey, way to win with class boys. Try to act like you've done it before." A bunch of them actually shut up and got the hint.
All in all, it was a great game and a great way to finish the season. The Coyotes have a bright future in the Summit.

All in all, it was a great game and a great way to finish the season. The Coyotes have a bright future in the Summit. I guess you can say that both teams have fans that act like idiots. I was a little disappointed with the USD band. Idiot fans are one thing but when somebody is in a band representing your school why are they wearing a shirt that says "Jack can suck a coyote D***"? I don't know what it said on the front but that was on the back. There might have been other bands that wore things like that (even SDSU) but I didn't see it. The USD band called the arena there house after both wins but they sure were quiet after their loses. I haven't heard a band do that since Oakland(I think) did a few years ago. I heard somebody say that they thought that they might get through the whole first day without somebody chanting that their team was going to win. I guess I don't know if I've ever heard that chant before. Is it a common chant? I will give the USD band credit for being the most vocal band. They were vocal even when USD wasn't playing. I thought that the USD band and the IPFW band did some bonding. The IPFW band was chanting the chant about a SDSU education that they learned from USD's band. I know MOST OF THIS ISN"T THAT BIG OF A DEAL but the shirt is what got me. I don't know if chants about players and educations are classified as cheering but you knew when the USD band was in their house. I'm glad that you walked through them and said something about winning with class. It shouldn't take that but I'm glad some of them got the hint, too. I may be old fashion but I like that type of attitude. As far as the games went, that was a great game. USD had SDSU on their heals for most of the game. Seekamp(?) deserved to be player of the tournament. She played great. I wish she was on SDSU's team. I hope they can find somebody that can at least slow her down because they didn't do a good of that during that game. It's not very often that a player on the losing team is the player of the tournament but this was was well deserved. I think she is fun to watch but I don't like watching her at the same time(she's that good).

Why are we ruining a great game and great rivalry by talking about sh*t like this? Oh yea, Mr Coyotefan started it. Now it makes sense. All that happened just tells me that the rivalry is back, better than ever and when a trip to the big dance is on the line, the place is going to be rocking.

How about because the SDSU fanbase likes to always claim that USD is the school with most of the bad behavior whether it be fans, admin, players etc. Cases of poor fan behavior are very relevant to the current discussion. USD can lose with class and can lose to SDSU with class. We will see what happens when the Yotes start to take some of that success from SDSU. Will they be greatfull losers as well. Based on the way they treat all their opponents after a loss I would seriously doubt it. Their board is full of low class comments about their opponents, especially after a loss. That rarely happens on the Yotes board. This discussion won't take away from the wonderfull season the Coyote Women had, and it might not be over yet as the NIT or another post season tournament is still a possibility.

I don't even know why I am jumping into this, but here goes. I have attended multiple sessions each year but this is the first for attending every game of each session. With that said, I got to see a lot, both good and bad. The good was so much competitive basketball in a great environment for each session. While watching this, I was completely surrounded by Jack fans and those directly around me were all fun for every session. One even gave me their Sunday passes and wouldn't accept money or even a beverage in return. On the other hand, I had to cringe when our band starts a chant about State while they are playing another school. It doesn't always have to be about State vs U. I was also disappointed to hear the verbal abuse a select few Jack fans heaped on the players and coaches from behind the bench. I felt like some lines were crossed. No one ever likes the ref calls so that is to be expected. A few of the Yote BB men walked in and let's just say they weren't warmly welcomed, either. Mind you, this is a completely adult section, there were no students to pin this on. If the tables were turned and the section was all red instead of blue, would I have heard the same things? I am not foolish enough to say no.
I am not a fan at all of the "Jack be nimble" shirts, but nor was I a fan of the "Buck the Fison" shirts with a silhouette of a rabbit behind a bison being worn by some students. Not statements I would make, but to each their own.
Enough rambling. I already can't wait for next year to do it all over again!
Go Yotes!
