Shout out to Mark Maturi

I had the good fortune of playing in the USD Howling Pack golf tournament today at Willow Run in Sioux Falls. I want to thank the local guys who organized it and got it filled up, but I really would like everyone to know how hard Mark Maturi works to make these events fun to be at. They've changed over the years in the sense that the vast majority of the players are either alum or supporters of the school as opposed to a grad lining up 3 friends to play in it without USD ties.

Mark has professionalized it a ton, and I think we all need to know and understand how hard works for USD. He has always been a behind the scenes guy, but I think it would be appropriate to email him and thank him for all he does for Coyote athletics. I know Herbster understands Marks value to our school.

I think it would be appropriate for our head coaches to be there unless there were other pressing matters. Coach Amy Williams was there and did a great job as well as her husband representing the men's program. Assistant FB coaches were there and seen, but no Joe Glenn. Lucky Huber and Gotts also were there. Two class acts.

Anyway, after listening to Dave Herbsters recital of facts regarding AllAmericans, All Conference, Academic this and that, we should be damned proud of USD. Please get out your checkbook and support the Howling Pack if nothing else. Great job today people, and THANK YOU

Couldn't agree with you more YF. Mark works his tail off and it was apparent today. Big thanks to him and all of the coaches and staff who made today such a success. We definitely have a lot to be proud of and even more to look forward to in the coming years. If folks on this message board have yet to join the Howling Pack, it's easy and a call to Mark can make it happen. A donation of $8.33 a month ($100 a year) can go a long way to continuing the momentum the USD athletic department has built for itself. Bigger donations can do even more. I had the pleasure of speaking with Mark directly regarding my Howling Pack renewal. He didn't come across like he was just counting beans, but we had a real conversation about the direction of the program. We have good people in place in Admin., Coaching, and player talent. Now it's time to support them with facilities, scholarships and mostly loud, screaming, decked in Red, Coyote Fans!!
We're all hoping for the Yotes to go 0 to 60 in results on the field (court), now we need to go 0 to 60 in supporting the Howling Pack! If you haven't given, give a little. If you've given a little, give more. If you've given more, Double It! Let's Go Yotes! Lets Go Yotes!
