Very poorly done. Beyond being poorly written, it is also inaccurate. Not a good sign when the people writing the commentary are so disinterested in the program that they don't even know that the starting quarterback was a Sophomore last year.
The Athletic Department should have better quality control. The little things matter!

Who is Terrance Perry? I have never heard of that player before. What's closer to accurate, Terrance Perry, Perrance Terry or Perrance Perry. That sounds like something on an IQ test. What comes next in the sequence of names.

Sims is not returning, and Marlette is gone too. Not listed under returning starters below though.
In the returning starters only the first list position and size correctly, it gets flipped after that. I don't think that anyone involved with the university made this.

If they were from the U, then they need to look for a job elsewhere. This kind of crap just pisses me off to no end. Makes us look Mickey M O U S E

Brian Boettcher, SID at USD asked me to pass this along in regards to the preview:
"On behalf of the Coyote sports information staff, I want to apologize to USD fans and alums for an advertisement posted on GoYotes.com Monday evening that included erroneous information about the Coyote football team’s upcoming 2013 season. We have asked CBS to remove the ad until appropriate corrections have been made. The information used in the ad was not approved nor designed by the USD athletic department in any way. The preview information was written by George Pike and posted on throughthephog.com on July 30. While it is unfortunate that CBS used this website to obtain information about the USD football team, the company has since apologized for the error and we hope to have a more open form of communication with CBS staff members moving forward."
Hope this explains it...

Why does CBS even help out with this stuff. Our website should have never been build around CBS, but then Neulion. So much better.

The incorrect info was part of an advertising ribbon on the website & am guessing the agreement with CBS allows them to place a certain amount of advertising. Overall, I have been happy with the CBS website and prefer it over NeuLion. Both the SDSU & NDSU message boards have complaints regarding NeuLion. I would prefer that all MVFC & Summit teams use the same website provider as it would allow for easier sharing of information such as live webcasts.

I kind of like CBS but understand in great part that the media aren't as concerned with checking facts as most of us would like. USD is guilty of failing to watchdog and in my view that is a misdemeanor at least.
As for "season previews", I'd develop stories all over the place: spotlight returning starters; player comments; coaches comments; comments around the conference; heck, even comments from cheerleaders if it comes to that. C'mon, let's get to know something about the team......
There is an audience for that and doing those kind of stories now makes more sense than doing it in November. I doubt the "U" will ever be guilty of under-marketing their sports teams.
