NAU beat Cal-Davis tonight 21-10 despite being out gained. The Lumberjacks had 2 pick 6's, so I have to believe the Coyotes have a great shot next weekend. I'm personally looking forward to the matchup.

Looking at how NAU did against UC-Davis, I think we have a good shot here. Against the UC-Davis defense NAU totaled only 191 yards, including just 66 rushing yards on 32 attempts (2.1 per rush) to our 195 on 48 attempts (4.1 per rush), and 125 passing yards on 26 attempts (4.8 per attempt) to our 91 yards on 17 attempts (5.4 per attempt). Our offense looks primed to put us on top in this one if the defense can hold steady, which I'm feeling pretty confident they can.
A win here would be a big one for us. We haven't won on the road since we beat Minnesota 3 years ago, and to do it against a ranked team would be phenomenal. These next 3 games are probably the most winnable left on the schedule, so let's go out and get em Yotes!

Will this game be on at any locations in Sioux Falls? In the past USD has hosted watch parties. Would enjoy seeing this game if I can.

Basically reiterating what others have already said... UC Davis was beating NAU for 3+ quarters. Assuming we are equal or better (we did beat them!) than UC Davis, we should definitely be able to stay in this game! With any luck we could avoid 2 4th quarter INT returns for TD and come away with a W.
NAU (road), W Ill (road), and Mizzou St (home) are the next 3 games. I think 2-1 over those 3 games is pretty reasonable and should be within reach. Maybe it's a tad ambitious but it's time to start expecting more at this point and with good reason: We've got a solid running game and defense and are playing relatively mistake-free at this point. In my opinion, if we can clean up the special teams and step up the passing game a bit, there's no reason we shouldn't be competitive in all these MVFC games and start winning some of them too!

Agree with your post. USD has not won on the road because they have not done the following: run the ball consistently, win the turnover battle, tackle well on defense, avoid catastrophic special teams plays. I am confident the 2013 Yotes are on track to be able to do the first three. The jury is still out on special teams. Win this game and I could see the Yotes with 5-6 wins this year. Lose this one and 2-3 look more likely to me.

On the radio tonight Joe Glenn said that two players sidelined by injuries so far this year will play this weekend. True Freshman Khorey Kilgore will rotate in at RB and RS FR Zeke Lewis will get time at DB. You can tell the staff really thinks these two will be solid players.
Glenn also said they have worked hard on the punt game this past week. Sure hope so.
