Thanks for the reminder jacket. Seems to me it is about the same as your precious bunnies losing to Dales Lennon's bunch on drunken hobo day. Especially considering that jackey nation thinks they are some kind of national title contender. What a joke.

I do recall a mediocre Coyote team beating UNI 41-17 in 1971. Joe Glenn was a team captain that year I believe.
The distant past counts as much as the recent past in my book, but I realize not for everyone.

Thanks Jackit. 9-6-2008, Northern Iowa beats South Dakota 24-13 in USD's first year in D-1. Two weeks later on 9-20-2008 Northern Iowa beats South Dakota State 34-20. Both games at UNI-Dome. 11 point spread v. 14 point spread. Thanks for the reminder jacket. Seems to me it is about the same as your precious bunnies losing to Dales Lennon's bunch on drunken hobo day. Especially considering that jackey nation thinks they are some kind of national title contender. What a joke. Really guys? Are either of those games relevant? So a Jackrabbit fan pointed out that we had a 59 point loss at UNI in 2009, it was in response to someone saying we play them strong in their dome. I don't think that warrants these kinds of responses. I pointed out we had the massive loss first, do you want to get on my case for remembering the game? This "Hate State" above all else is too old.

Aw hell, I'll bite. 1234 you said it best in your earlier post when you wrote, "I'm not as old as others here." That means there's a long history you're completely unaware of, not just as it relates to the USD v. SDSU rivalry on the field and off, but also on this message board and the previous boards. Further, lots of guys on this board either played in, coached in, or watched friends, sons, brothers, etc...play in some of these games. Why don't you ask them how relevant those games were. My comments had nothing to do with "Hate State" above all else, in fact those words were nowhere in my post. "But that's the inference of your last post," I can hear you saying. Well, young fella, welcome to the rivalry party. That could also be perceived as the backhanded historical reference provided by our friend Jackit as well. And so it goes and so it has been. It's all in good fun so don't trouble yourself about what kinds of responses are warranted and which are not. Go have a beer at Carey's for crying out loud and embrace the rivalry. Trust me, in a few years it will all make sense.
