So, to this day there is 5 games remaining. This is the push. I know a lot of people never thought of this but if the Coyotes keep playing like they are a playoff berth is a possibility.
Here we go!
@illinois State
This is a tough game. ISU just came off a beating of the other ISU. Honestly, in Normal....I think it will be tough for the Coyotes to come out with a win here. Prediction: LOSS Record: 4-4 (3-2)
v.s. Youngstown State
Another really tough game, the good news is that it is in the dome. I think USD will lose, but closely. Prediction: LOSS Record: 4-5 (3-3)
v.s. Montana
Another really tough game, Montana is very solid, and very good. I honestly do not see USD losing 2 weeks in a row in the dome. Prediction: WIN Record: 5-5 (4-3)
v.s. South Dakota State
BIG GAME! USD will win though. In the dome...it's over Rabbits. Prediction: WIN Record: 6-5 (5-3)
@ North Dakota State Probably the toughest game of the year. Prediction: LOSS Record: 6-6 (5-4)
Honestly, this record is a win win anyways. It all depends on this weekend. How we will come out. If we win. We have a chance to beat 4 more teams and have 8 wins this year. We will see.
GO YOTES!

I agree - the game against ISU is the key. We beat UNI, which is a huge win in its own right, but its time to move on. Like I sad this past weekend - the tests have just begun. Can we handle the hype from UNI and transform it into the game at ISU? Or will it go to our heads?

Think we play eight, not nine conference games. Got your drift, though.

You counted the Montana game as a conference game, they are just a very late season non conference opponent.
@isu - I got a tossup here. I really could see this going either way, but playing outside for the first time in a long time might take us off our game. I'll say loss, just because we are due for a loss. YSU - Close loss. They have a bye week to prepare for us, they'll be prepared. Montana - Win, because I say so. SDSU - Win. These guys seem to be getting worse as the season goes on, while we improve. We will be favorites to take this one. @ndsu - Loss. Probably going to be a while before we take one in Fargo.
6-6 (4-4). The only two games that I'm really sure about my predictions are the Dakota games, rest are just guesswork. Hoping we can rattle off 4 more wins and slide into the playoffs. We are already looking great for a team that won one game last year and were picked to repeat in the cellar, I feel we've already had a successful season and anything more at this point is just icing on the cake.

I went into this year with tempered enthusiasm for what to expect. The team has the raw ability if they play well to win 3 to 4 of the remaining games. If they beat Illinois St I think they run the table until NDSU. If they lose to Illinois St I see them getting two more max. Either way this team is vastly improved.
Put things into perspective and think about how many players either left or were asked to not come back after Glenn took over - 10-15 players.
Couple that with significant injuries so far:
Sanders - starting RB Williams - starting WR Manning - starting FB Murtha - starting G Staples - was #1 on the depth chart at middle LB when he blew his knee out during fall camp Wiseman - was slated to get at least equal time at DL this year - coaches were excited about what he was bringing to the table.
Young Freshman have stepped up in most cases.
Sanders will be back next year. Sanders, Bouma, Kilgore will be three awesome backs. Jordan Roberts will also be in the mix. Drew Potter is a stud true FR FB. One heck of a backfield.
Earl will have tons of experience by next year.
The OL will be experienced. The young guys that will step in at center and the one guard spot are studs.
WR looks better every game. The biggest playmakers are all coming back.
Wiseman and Staples will be back. Obviously the loss of Starr and the DBs is huge. There is a lot of speed already on the roster that can step in immediately.
The kicker is talented - he will get better. Get a long snapper that is accurate and fast and many of those problems are gone.
Lots of reasons to be excited for the remainder of the season and next year for sure.
Go Yotes.

If you've been over to the UNI message board you would know that the Panthers are the only team that gets depleated by injuries. Stop piling on them by pointing out how many players USD has lost this season and, likely, how much better we could be.

Good breakdown of the current & future Coyotes, obc!
Also, Khalid Kornegay to an already promising WR core is an exciting addition.
Even though we have the 4 SR DBs, we do have a couple of FR (Foster, Alger) that have been seeing action, that should be good experience for next year.

I thought I heard that Wiseman transferred from the team after his injury. Was I misinformed?

Wiseman is still a Yote. ACL surgery has healed well. He had a hard time having to sit this year out and can't wait to get back on the field. He will be ready for spring ball.
