Bison fan checking in. Bisonville's overall arrogance is embarrassing to many of us old-timers as well. It's mostly kids who get caught up in the heady experience, but if you dig deeper, you will find that most of us are extremely respectful of the Coyotes and what they have accomplished under the leadership of your outstanding coach, Joe Glenn. (Our coach, Craig Bohl and Joe Glenn are good friends and extremely respectful of each other, you know.) Yes. Everyone expected the Bison to win. But from coach Craig Bohl on down, 'most everyone expected a battle and that to win, the Bison would have to play their best. Top media experts in the Fargo outlets expected at least 14 points from USD. USD win over UNI was a watermark victory indicating to everyone that the Coyotes belong. Coyotes have proven themselves worthy this year and will be a force to contend with in future Valley rivalries. To continue to be the very best the Missouri Valley Football Conference needs the competitiveness shown by the USD Coyotes.

Well, in bisonville's defense, is it arrogance to call it the way you see it? I went through the picks and the largest margin of victory I found in a prediction was 32 points which is less than the margin of victory that Sagarin predicted. Is Sagarin arrogant? Note: I'm excluding the prediction from the poster who always picks NDSU to lose 52-10. Now, being disrespectful after the game is over is another thing.
For may part, I was impressed by a lot of things about USD, starting with that running back - he is one tough dude. And the OL looked nasty. USD also has some very good players on defense, but clearly USD was outmatched and almost every Bison fan knew it going into the game.
Now, next year, the tables could turn a bit. Glenn likes a gambling, hyper-aggressive defense and if the other team can't make the 'Yotes pay, then that team loses.

Coyotes have proven themselves worthy this year and will be a force to contend with in future Valley rivalries. To continue to be the very best the Missouri Valley Football Conference needs the competitiveness shown by the USD Coyotes. I for one appreciate the note. I no longer go to Bisonville, but only because the vast majority of posters are college kids and quite frankly are spoiled. They don't know what it is like to suffer, build, and compete. NDSU has been a power in football in whatever division they are in for nearly 50 years. I'm not sure what turned it around for them in the 60's, but once they got to the point they had more than one title, they were tough. Honestly, my hats off to them because they have maintained that dominance. What we need to figure out is how do we get to that level where we not only compete with them, but knock them off periodically? Lets be honest about this, Joe isn't going to coach a whole lot longer. Common sense would say that. I do think he is in love with the job, but his age says he can't take the pace and grind of it forever. It would be my recommendation to the current administration that not only we secure funding for the arena project and Dome renovation, but also secure funding to pay coaches good amounts to get them to come here. I'm talking about coaches that would come here, win, and eventually move on to BCS s hooks. We need to realize we are a stepping stone university, as is much of the MVC. I'm surprised that the Bison haven't lost Coach Bohl to someone. In fact I'm shocked. Unless there is some things at work against him the average fan doesn't know about. Anyway, if we pay say $400,000 to football coaches in salaries, we need to find a way to fund the program at double that amount or more, and bring in the up and comers to our great school. Great coaches do two things. They recruit well, a d the coach them up. That's what they do. Average coaches have troubles recruiting top players (get the average players by default...what's left) and they do t coach up as well. We need to recruit top coaches. Period. If we want winning football, or basketball, or any sport. To our squad this year, thank you. Thank you for believing in yourselves, which made it easy for us to believe in you. You guys never quit, and until yesterday, were in every game you played. That's charecter. And that charecter will serve you well when you leave USD and compete in the game of life. You truly are winners in my book, and the bucks I throw at the program are well worth it to me. You made progress, and you EARNED THE RESPECT of your opponents. Congrats. For my money, 2014 can't come soon enough. I love the Coyotes. If you aren't on board with them, now is the time to commit to next year. These guys are worth it. They do it the right way.
