This season has been filled with bunches of awesome memories. First win in forever vs. UC Davis. Kevin Earl stepping up and becoming the QB of the Coyotes future. First MVFC win ever on D-Days v.s. Missouri State. The big win v.s. UNI in the UNIDOME. The almost upsets over Montana and Youngstown State, and the first meeting v.s. SDSU and USD in the Dome in 9 years. Next weekend the season wraps up against most definitely the toughest team this year.
I know on behalf of all of Coyote Nation I would like to thank the coaches, players, and everyone in the program. This has been a memorable season and I am already looking forward to next year when I can witness every home game in person.
Go Yotes!

I'm looking forward to this game on Saturday.
The Bison are 10-0 and looking to go undefeated for the regular season. Coach Bohl and the players have said that every year the 1st goal is to win the Valley conference title. Coach Bohl hasn't said and wont but the players have indicated that a perfect 15-0 season has been the goal since after the NC game in January.
I'll eat some crow and I deserve it. I thought USD would be a doormat this season. After last year's crappy season and seeing the Bison totally destroy the Coyotes in SF, I thought USD would be the same team as last year. But Coach Glenn has made significant improvements at USD. Have to give credit where it is due. Can he take the Coyotes to the MV title....we'll see.
What is your guys breakdown for this game.
My 2$:
TOP: Bison beat teams into the ground with their TOP offense. 3-6 yard gains turn into 10-15 yard gains in the 2nd half.
Defensive Line play: This has been a strength this year. NDSU rotates 10-11 guys on the line and this keeps them healthy and fresh in the 4th quarters.
Offensive Line: This unit has to be the best in the FCS and it isn't even close. They have manhandled almost every team they have played this year. A healthy UNI team did a decent job but got wore out in the 2nd half. I'm putting our FBs in this category. They just destroy LBs with their blocks.
Brock Jensen: The guy is a true leader and a warrior. There are a lot of QBs with better stats but I wouldn't trade him for anyone. He just wins and leads this team. Much better passer this year.
Crowd should be great on Saturday. Week off then 3 home games in the FD, if they keep winning. Good luck to any team coming into the FD for the playoffs.
These last 3 years have been a great ride no matter what happens the rest of the season. But what makes me excited is that the '14 team is also going to be very good also.

Coyotes shock the world! You heard it here first!
Ehh, I predict it will be a good competitive game. NDSU is just dang good but the Yotes will give them a game. It all depends on what our RB situation is and if we can heal up in time. I don't think we're at the level we need to be to defeat the Bison...yet, but stranger things have happened.

USD will need to follow the Indiana State formula last year and get a few defensive touchdowns to hang with the Bison. No running game equals a rough day on offense. NDSU wins battles up front, and it's asking too much for USD to go in there and stay close. A few years maybe, but not right now.

I'm not expecting a win from a banged up Coyote team, but compared to last year this will be more of a game.
Last year the line didn't win many battles with NDSU, if any. They will have a tougher time than any previous games this year, but the Coyotes will definitely win some battles this year, both sides of the ball. I don't see it necessarily changing the outcome of the game, but I think the Bison will know they have been in a battle this year.

There was a lot of optimism here a few weeks ago.
No one thinks the Coyotes can pull off a win?

There was a lot of optimism here a few weeks ago. No one thinks the Coyotes can pull off a win? We don't have a single healthy running back. If we were ever going to pull this one off all parts of our game would have be to firing on all cylinders, and here we are sitting without a cylinder. Would you have beat KSU without a running game? Not even close.

There was a lot of optimism here a few weeks ago. No one thinks the Coyotes can pull off a win? I think everyone is a little bummed out. The past 3 weeks were not kind to us. We had Youngstown beat, we had Montana beat, and we felt strongly we were going to beat SDSU. In the first two games, we were the better team. Against State, we weren't the better team that day. A large part of that is due to the running back issue, but also losing 3 games at the end sucks. I hope our kids have more in the tank then the fans do. I'd be surprised if they came out with their hair on fire, but maybe they will, who knows. Had we won the last 3, or two of the last three, and had our running game in tact, then I think we would have said this...."it's not likely, but we have a shot". Right now it just feels like we don't have a shot. We thoroughly understand how good you guys are, and respect the hell out of it. I hate to say this, but it could get ugly like last year unless the kids have more moxie than I thought. Either way, I'll be there.

I liked what T. Starr had to say in the Argus today.
"I think going out your last game, you'd rather play the best team in the nation than the worst team."
"We've got nothing to lose and it's our chance to go out and prove a few things. I think it's a great way to
go out."

That's the spark I was looking for. These are 20 year old kids. We have no idea how they will come out and play. I will say that donning the Red for the last time ever is great motivation. The last game I played was on a dead end Yote squad that took out a playoff bound SCSU team on the road. Nobody gave us a chance. We owned the day.

Yotes are gathering there Do we have ANY motivation or RBs for this game? The ML here is +20000!!! Obviously it's an incredible longshot, but $10 gets you $2000?!?! Probably throwing money away- but $10 barely gets you a combo meal at lunch anymore.

I suspect there will be plenty of internal motivation, though all the motivation in the world can't fix the running back situation. If Roberts and Bouma don't play at all -- and they probably shouldn't, as they appear to be injured, not hurt -- aren't we on our fifth-string running back (Jasper, Earv, Jordan, Trevor, ____)? The fact we've even had to consider putting our backup qb and backup fb in that spot just blows my mind. Has JVM ever played running back at any level? Everyone deals with injuries, but that's just incredible.
I'm frankly glad this game is on the road against a quality opponent. It will be an exciting atmosphere for these seniors. The last month has been difficult to stomach, and I don't think a lot of our fans have anything left in the tank. These guys will play for each other. I look forward to heading north and showing my support.

Outside of v-ball, we're collectively in a funk. Need something big to happen to right the ship!
