Solid case for NDSU not to be seeded.

I predicted 7-4 (5-3) preseason. Only 2 games I got wrong were NDSU & SIU. Glad to be wrong.

Worth noting, that playing at WIU is a lot like the trip to Indy State. The team stayed 90 minutes away last night, then drove to Macomb this morning. Could’ve affected the start. Similar to start in Terre Haute.
Bouman definitely had a tough start. But they finally got it going. Jones just has killer speed. Phillips ran extremely hard. Good to see Thomas back out there, although he still looked a little gimpy. Pierre didn’t make the trip but the RB room is so deep it didn’t matter.
Awesome that Phillips only played 4 games and preserves eligibility for a year, and playoff games don’t count towards burning a year. All hands on deck.

Would be great to see Nate Thomas get on the field and shake off any rust and get back into the flow of things. Let Theis get a lighter load and freshen up his legs. Ground and pound is what I want to see.

Yes, go Bison. Get them to the 8 seed and in line for a rematch in Brookings in the quarterfinals. We might have UND in our bracket though, but you can’t avoid everybody.

I don't care what the polls say. The top 3 teams in FCS are SDSU, Montana State, and USD in that order. Furman? Those eastern teams don't play Valley or Big Sky schedules. It's a different thing playing top level competition each week. Montana should probably be in that conversation but they have yet to play MSU. We've definitely earned the right to be up there this year. I would feel a lot better about us if we had at least given state a game. I'm really proud of this squad though. It would be really cool if we could be bracketed away from the jacks. I disagree. I would rather be bracketed with the Jacks. Why? Because flying to a Montana school with 25k people in the stands in zero degrees doesn’t sound like fun. Maybe we won’t win in Brookings, but it’s a bus trip game and our fans would have the opportunity to attend. Maybe I am crazy though.

I feel like it has improved from what is was previously. Remember the constant buzzing ? That buzzing was the lights

Absolutely amazed by MOST beating UNI. I probably shouldn’t be, but I am.

I can’t even remember if they called it on the field. I know with Barros against SDSU it wasn’t and the booth buzzed down to call it based on replays. At that point you knew he was screwed because he wasn’t going to overrule himself.

Interesting final 2 weeks of MVFC play. 7 wins and 5-3 in League is no automatic this year for playoffs IMO.
If USD wins against UND, we are staring at a likely 9-2 (7-1) record and a playoff seed. Lose to UND and finish 1-1, and end up 8-3(6-2) you are likely in the playoffs but might lose a seed IF:
UNI is 6-3 (5-1). If they beat MOST they’ve gotta be in with 6 MVFC wins. If they win out, they could sneak in as a top 8 seed ahead of USD if they finish 8-3 (7-1).
Almost an elimination game for UND this week, so USD better match their desperation. If UND loses, and beats Illinois state following week, they would be 7-4 (5-3). But their only quality win would be vs NDSU. Is that enough?
NDSU also has an interesting final 2 games. If they beat SIU but lose at UNI they would be 7-4 and 4-4 in league. You would think UND would have the tiebreaker with them in this scenario with the head to head victory and better conference record. But what if NDSU goes 2-0 and finishes 8-3 (5-3) but lost to UND who might be 7-4?
YSU should go 1-1 to get to 7-4 (5-3) as well.
If SIU goes 1-1 and they also finish 7-4(5-3). YSU has the head to head tiebreaker on SIU and YSU should get in.

I think my overarching thought after today is that we are FINALLY physical enough to win a game like this in the valley. If we can maintain it, continued success should follow. There is no way we win a game like this in years past. It's a good feeling. Exactly. I am old enough to remember not even being able to win a game in the month of November, let alone a road game.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention the targeting call that looked like the defender couldn’t really do anything differently. Galbreath got hit helmet to helmet next series and no call. We were fighting salukis and zebras today.

Let’s not forget that SIU played SDSU to a 17-10 game a few weeks ago. They were stout on defense and yards were hard to come by. But our defense was very good situationally. We forced a turnover on downs. Stopped them on a 3rd down which forced a FG attempt with a shakey kicker, who missed. This was a 9 vs 10 matchup. Were people expecting a blowout? The only blowout I would’ve seen coming was from the home team. Other than a couple obvious face masks where they ripped our helmets off, how many penalties on SIU today? Their OL was holding all game long and never once called. Jerry P even said they were blatantly holding on the last punt return, no call.
I am tickled pink and think we should all be giddy to see us grit out a tractor pull type of game and win by a TD. The same exact margin of victory the #1 team had on this same field.
