SDSU womens basketball is vulnerable because they lost there 1st ever Summit League tourney game? USD finished 4th and lost 7 games during the conference regular season while SDSU lost 1 game during the conference schedule. Regular season titles proves who is the better team while the tournament titles is about who the better team is that day. The future of SDSU WBB is in good hands with the best player in South Dakota since Becky Hammon coming to SDSU next year to join 3 freshman who contributed to this years success in many ways. So I don't see how its vulnerable after 1 year. SDSU has proven time and time against that it is the class of the Summit. As far as men's basketball goes, there is a lot of uncertainty for just about every team in the Summit. Like you said time will tell. BTW, just about every school in the region plays outdoors. I don't think it matters that much. I would also love to see the recruits eyes when they see a brand new indoor practice facility to go along with a new stadium. In WBB we stomped you on the biggest stage we can play on, made the NCAA tournament, are gaining more notoriety, and you think that you are somehow going to keep your edge over us? You really think this was just a one-time ordeal? It came down to the last minute of the title game last season, we stomped you this year, and we only lose one player going into next year. Yeah, no...looks like we shouldn't be bothering you anymore I find it funny how you think USD is getting all this respect and have the "edge" because they won 1 Summit League Tournament, lost to Sanford by 19 in the big dance, and finished 4th in the regular season. USD is 2-7 against SDSU since going D1. SDSU has earned the respect and is noted as one of the top mid-major women's basketball programs. They have been nationally ranked, won multiple regular and tournament titles, won a game in the big dance and almost making it to the sweet 16, beat numerous high major programs, and beat ranked teams. I would take regular season titles over tournament titles everyday of the week (SDSU has 5 of each) if not for the tournament title giving an auto-bid to the NCAA tournament.

I bet you compete for a lot of recruits who would otherwise be playing at theh regional Big Ten and Big 12 schools. Good point. The point is why does it even matter whether SDSU plays indoors or outdoors. Are you trying to say that SDSU is at a disadvantage because they play outdoors? If so, please explain. I'm not sure what the big deal is. Would you rather watch a game protected from wind in 70 degree weather, or deal with a frigid blast of wind in your face for a couple hours? The indoor facilities speak for themselves, no one wants to deal with the weather here.

Great, you won a bunch of titles when we weren't around. Two years as full members, first year came down to the final minute in Sioux Falls, second year you should have just stayed home, and we only stand to improve greatly. You're going to have to get used to going to the NIT more often.

Meh,those are just overwhelming facts. Yotes think there is a "chink" in that armor......a serious one at that. That said,i will give Herbster credit. He knows a butt kicking when he sees/feels one.

Remember in men's BB when you had "NBA Nate the Great" and couldn't win a BB game in the dome? Makes you 1 of the last 3 in the dome and you barely won that 1.

Your program's health is better, but you've had more time to establish it with less competition. I'm not saying we're a dynasty by any means, but you'd have to be pretty dumb to think we aren't approaching your level. I'll say again, we've been postseason-eligible for two years, first year came down to the final minute, and we ran you out of the gym the second year. Until this league becomes a multiple bid league, those games in Sioux Falls determine everything, and it's looking pretty even. Take off the shades, or go back to your board.

I also remember SDSU running USD out of Frost every year. Another thing I remember is making the dance 2 years in a row while winning 1 regular season title.

SDSU plays the toughest ooc schedule in the Summit every year by far. ORU and Oakland were arguably just as good as USD when they were in the Summit. The leagues competition hasn't changed a whole sense USD joined. Multi bid league are made by teams not by the league itself. Meaning that particular team has to put itself in position to get an at-large by scheduling a tough ooc like SDSU does year after year. SDSU was 1 or 2 wins away from receiving an at-large. Let's see how USD does this upcoming season without Polly Harrington ( single-handily killed SDSU in Sioux Falls) and the next year after Seekamp leaves. If USD stays just as competitive as they are know i'd say we will be about even. Right now SDSU has the upper hand. You could say that's biased if you want but that's the truth. SDSU has shown it can reload year after year and finish in the top like NDSU's football program. Will will see if USD can after a couple more years. Shades have been off. I'm just stating facts that can be proven.

Have to wonder why a couple of SDSU fans feel the need to account for almost half the posts on a thread regarding the accomplishments of David Herbster in his first year as AD for the Yotes.

Exactly--they wouldn't be posting here if they weren't worried about their future and having to try and diminish our success!

Someone has to post on the USD board. May as well be a couple SDSU fans. Heck, it is by far the liveliest thread on your board. Not a lot of interest in USD athletics these days.

Some yote fan stated on in this thread that SDSU women's basketball is vulnerable. So i was simply stating that its not.
