Props to the Jacks for taking Stanford to the wire. Stanford hit a 3 with 8 seconds left to beat SDSU by 1. That's a great showing. Shows the country what both SDSU and USD are made of. Now I really want to see the lady Yotes win this WNIT. Congrats lady Jacks It wasn't a 3-pointer, it was a layup, foul + free throw. On the other end Miller got bumped and got her shot blocked and the putback was no good. Graham Hays is on our side.

Regardless, a great effort on their part. I'm sure they are majorly bummed out this morning. I was just looking at play by play analysis where they typed 3 point play. I assumed it was a 3. Thanks for the correction.

I really don't know where to post this so why not stick it right here. One thing I don't understand is why SDSU's players, fans, the media, and most of the Coyotes Fans (me excluded) think the Jacks should have been bracketed in the Sioux Falls region. I wonder if those with that idea have talked to many people from Columbia, SC if that is a good idea or not. So lets just throw the Jacks in front of their home crowd as a #12 seed and allow them to basically host South Carolina, the #2 overall team in the tournament, I wonder how that would play in Game Cock nation. You would never see a men's top seed such as Virginia, North Carolina, Kansas or Oregon playing a potential game in front of a big enemy crowd in the first or second weekend. So why such an out cry. Maybe because Jacks fans cannot think outside the circle that surrounds Brookings, SD. There is no way the Jacks should get to play in South Dakota as that low of a seed. They get the Summit tourney in their back yard and still whine that they can't play in Sioux Falls. Imagine how far both their teams would go if the Summit Tourney was actually in Fort Wayne Indiana and Vermillion South Dakota.

Imagine how far both their teams would go if the Summit Tourney was actually in Fort Wayne Indiana and Vermillion South Dakota. The reason that the NCAA might want it in Sioux Falls with the jackrabbits may be attendance. It is much why the Gamecocks filled the arena in Columbia with 10K+ for the games in South Carolina. It is also a question why Stanford might host a game that 1961 fans attend. Also, remember that the men's teams are not able to have home games in their home venues like the women's games. Should it make a difference what the seed might be for teams to compete? The tables are tilted to the P5 teams in the women's game as we see where the opening rounds are played. I am not calling for the Jackrabbits to be in the SF Regional if you agree that the #1 seeds play at a neutral site. #1-#4 seeds are likely to win wherever they play. That is much like the USD or SDSU are the #1 and #2 seeds. It is unlikely that they will be eliminated by the lower seeds regardless of venue for the conference title. It is quite normal if you go 15-1 in the regular season that it does not make any difference where you play the #8 seed. Although, if you study the income for the conference-it seems unlikely that Ft Wayne venue would change the outcome of the games where the income would suffer considerably. Vermillion could not be a venue since there is not a facility that could host the crowd outside of the dome(home court) unless we turned away fans. Meanwhile, I would expect the Coyote fans to embrace the advantage the WNIT allows you to have a home game against UNI. Life is not fair for every situation, but it normally does not stop the inequities when we recognize those items. Good Luck in the WNIT and keep the seats full.

The women's committee is more worried about attendance than who will have the upper hand at the neutral court. That is why the ESPN analysts and Tara Vanderveer were dumbfounded by the committee's choice by putting SDSU in the Lexington region and South Carolina in the Sioux Falls region. But I'll let CF thinks what he wants. And I think it was more of a disappointment than a whine from the coaches and players. Who wouldn't be disappointed that they couldn't play in front a 10k fans who would be rooting them on in the Sweet 16?

Not very many double digits seeds reach the sweet 16 on the women's side. there is very little parity unlike the men's side. I can see the complaint from South Caronia fans but state fans upset about it is ridiculous. Look at it from the committees perspective. SDSU has never reached the sweet 16. they look at it as they probably will not make it. pleasing SDSU fans is the last thing on their mind. I know state fans feel like the world revolves around them but anyone from outside the state of SD looked at it as its a non issue bc SDSU will not make it anyway.
We may know in SD how good both USD and SDSU women's teams are but the rest of the world could care less. Complaining about Stanford only having 1,900 fans attending their round of 32 home game as pathetic and that SDSU would have had triple that is stupid. No one outside the Midwest cares about women's sports. That doesn't mean SDSU should get home games for everything because they would sell more tickets. Its the way it is.

Why did ESPN analysts bring it up along with Stanfords head coach if it doesn't matter to anyone else besides SDSU fans? I don't know what your point about your last paragraph is. Stanford got to host the first 2 rounds since they were a top 4 seed. That has nothing to do with putting a team in a regional site where they would draw very well if they made it that far. I'm sure the committee is aware of the SLT women's attendance numbers.

The point is the Summit League doesn't have the respect of the committee yet and therefore it was a longshot to be placed in the Sioux Falls region. SL should have been a 2 bid league this year for sure, who knows about the future.

I DON'T want to be confrontational or argumentative on YOUR board,as I am merely a guest, especially on this day when everyone is in a festive mood,I just wanted to stress that first and foremost. My reason is to respond to the question you asked about the NCAA not placing the Jackrabbits into the Sioux Falls region.First,as a 12 seed, they'd play a # 5 seed first round and then a #4 seed the second rd,just like they did in the Lexington region. They'd have to win both these on the #4 seeds home court just to get to Sioux Falls. The Gamecocks got screwed too,as long as you've mentioned them, and they did get "upset" kind of (sorry Syracuse),but not by a #12 seed.My main reasoning is simply it drives fan interest for local fans to come cheer on their teams and it looks much more interesting and becomes more alluring to the casual viewer as they're flipping through the dial, which helps promote WBB and gives the viewer a more fun and interesting viewing. This is one of the goals the NCAA is purported to have, and yet they do these inexplicable things that are counter productive to their stated objectives. It's very perplexing to not only Jacks fans, but many proponents for women's Basketball also, such as, Tera VanDerveer ,the coach of Stanford, who stated her bewilderment in the press conference before the game.Chalk it up to the NCAA being the NCAA I guess.I'd say the same thing if it were the Yotes in the same situation,I'm a Jacks fan, but I'm not THAT biased and i hope I wouldn't be that hypocritical to not include everyone in the same situation.
