Apparently having a dedicated basketball facility did nothing to increase the number of games we host. A total of 7 non-conference home games against D1 schools between the men and women.
I do like the quality of the competition we are taking on, this schedule will prepare us for conference play.

6 in Verm in 2013-14 with 1 in November
5 in Verm in 2014-15 with 1 in November
4 in Verm in 2015-16 with 1 in November
6 in Verm in 2016-17 with 4 in November
Only counted non-con w/o reference to D1/2. Keep in mind we also played 4 games in Spain this year.
31 regular season games each of the last 3 years. So this year it will be 4 + 31 + (hopefully) 3 more in the playoffs. That's a lot of games.

NC schedule looks good to me. I always like going against an elite team at their place during Christmas break - hopefully all the students leave Gonzaga over the holidays...

WE have the same problem at UND, not being able to get many home D1 teams to come to Grand Forks. I would think a simple solution would be for USD and SDSU to schedule UND every year either a home and home that year or home one year and away the next year. This would help all three schools get more Home D1 games. NDSU and UND are signed for the next 4-5 years to play twice each year.

I agree, and with how many non conference games have to be worked in I wouldn't mind at least one if not two games against UND. I actually would like to see 12 teams in the Summit with a full round robin but at minimum 10.

Assuming you mean double round robin? 10 would be about perfect for that. 12, meaning 22 conference games is a little much. Side note, we did a really really good job with our schedule this year. Great balance for a team of our caliber and potential.

I'll be the dissenter here and say that if you want to play USD and SDSU every year, or twice a year home/home, then you should join the Summit League. Summit teams are missing the opportunity to blackball UND here. Not scheduling them forces them outward on the road for their Big Sky games and their OOC games. Scheduling a bunch of local teams in OOC allows them to have their cake and eat it to. I am assuming a majority of Summit teams want them in the conference, well, if they are feeling the pinch they may be inclined to join. If we make life easy for them then why would they? Keep in mind I do like UND and want them in the conference, so I am not saying any of this with the intent of hurting UND, I am saying it because I want us to help you help yourself.

I wouldn't mind the Summitt, but the MVFC Commissioner, for some reason won't consider UND for football. Until that happens UND will stay Big Sky. Although there is some talk (rumor) of UND going Summitt if Big Sky would allow them to stay football only until another football option opens up.

Big Sky only makes sense because of football but there are already football only members so UND should be able to leave football there and join the much more logical Summit for all other sports. Having to travel a thousand miles for every away conference game in every sport is insane.
