I did actually mention Burch-Manning almost right away in the Drake thread. There is nothing wrong with disagreement and I hope everyone else is right and I am wrong. The Coyotes won the fierce animal conference with a 2-0 record. The competition will get tougher.

CF, didn't set out to diss you or anything, really just wanted to reassure you that yes, we ARE more talented this year. I get excited at the beginning of every season. But this season for me the Yotes are really passing the eye test. Compare that to past years when E-Rob was our main big and Tyler Larson was the only proven "go-to" clutch guy we had in years...and we were still playing around .500 ball. Now we've got more bigs, a deeper bench, and at least two guys who've already proven better than Bos or Kasperbauer in the clutch (still clench up thinking about Bos' missed dagger against K-State 2 years ago...and I can't think of one occasion where either one accomplished what Mooney has done in the closing moments of both games thus far.) Given all that it stands to reason that we'll do a lot better than .500 ball. The Summit might be toughest it has ever been this year. Yes the competition will get tougher, but so will we. I'm not saying we're going to win the Summit or anything, but I do think we're finishing higher than 7th (which is the highest I think we've been picked in preseason polls).
We're 2-0 against D-I competition for the first time and I'm excited as hell! I might look stupid by the end of the season but (1) I don't think so, and (2) I don't care! Plenty of room on this crazy bandwagon. Go Yotes!

We are 2-0. With a couple cupcake games coming up this week we will be 4-0 going into the next tourney. We look the part finally and have some skill in multiple areas on the team to pick players up on when they are having bad nights.
This team will finish in the top half of the Summit League for sure. If not higher. On a side note SDSU does not look like the 2nd or 3rd team in the conference like they were picked. Should be some room to outperform those preseason picks in the conference.
NDSU and Fort Wayne look tough yet.

NDSU and Fort Wayne look tough yet. Wow that is some confidence. The Coyotes haven't really played a good team as of yet. I personally think the talent may be a little better but not so much better to the point of going from 8th in the conference up to 4th or higher. My gut tells me 7th is a closer finish but that is based on a very limited sample so I could totally change that tune after a few more games. It didn't look to me like there was a big purpose on offense other than isolation play. The D gave up some easy buckets. I just thought the Coyotes with the kind of energy and purpose that a new arena should bring that they should have won by closer to 15-20 points. Maybe that is too optimistic but Bowling Green is not a great team. My concern really isn't about the talent and whether it is upgraded or not, it's more about how I saw them playing together as a unit. Of course that kind of a thing can improve. I did think the Coyotes played pretty well in stretches and did play well down the stretch in both of their games but I saw a little too much lackadasical play for my liking. Maybe others saw it different and that is fine. We should embrace a difference of opinion because that is all it is. I think with the tourney coming up in Florida next week will start to clue us in a little bit more on the beginnings of knowing what kind of a team we have. Those are the types of games where if the Coyotes play good ball they can win some games but if they don't play very well they could also lose some games there. This is what I think the odds are of each senario next week. Everyone else feel free to post their odds as well just kind of for fun. Games won in Florida 3: 5% 2: 40% 1: 45% 0: 10%

Hot take alert: The men may finish with a better record than the women. Well, the men finished with a better conference record and a championship. Revisiting old threads is fun.

Thanks. It was flawed, given that hot takes aren't supposed to leave room for doubt.
