SDSU wins 69-66. Ober did not play. I wish NDSU and SDSU had free streams of their games.

The Coyotes and Jacks both escaped. Oral Roberts came back to beat Omaha which is a big win for ORU. Western Illinois trounced Fort Wayne. They were the only good Summit team that really took care of their business against a lowly Summit team.
The Coyotes need to jump all over the Jacks early on Saturday and not allow them any confidence at all in that game on the home hard wood. It will take better execution then we saw against Denver. It certainly seems like a winnable game if they play well.

Fort Wayne is the obvious choice, but they have gotten their conference win, and could just as easily win a couple more. At this point i think it is safe to say it will be one of the bottom 3 teams: Ft Wayne, Denver or NDSU.

NDSU seems to be regressing quickly right now. Ft. Wayne needs 2 wins (don't know who has that tiebreaker). Denver plays well against USD, so I hope that is who stays home.

NDSU is going to almost certainly own the tie breaker even if they lose at Fort Wayne. Since they already beat Fort Wayne even a loss in the rematch they would still win the tie breaker because of having beat USD once. Fort Wayne has a very difficult schedule remaining and the only game I can see them having a chance in is vs the Bison. The Mastadon's are basically screwed and I would say their chances of getting into the tourney are about 10%. The conference has enjoyed feasting on elephant meat this season.
edit post, I do now see that NDSU has two more wins then Fort Wayne so it basically comes down to FW and Denver. If Denver wins at home against them it will seal the fate of Fort Wayne.

Women's scores today
IUPUI 45 at Oral Roberts 54 - now that is the kind of game that ORU wants to play. Fort Wayne 50 at Denver 78 - That all but guarantees that the Lady Mastadons will not be coming to Sioux Falls USD 58 at SDSU 70 Omaha 29 at Western Illinois 36 at Half
Oral Roberts did the Coyotes a favor by knocking off IUPUI keeping the Coyotes up one in the loss column. If SDSU wins the league the Coyotes will be just fine as long as they don't slip to the 4 vs 5 game. If Western Illinois wins tonight they will hold the #2 spot based on tie breaker. #2 does hold some value because the Coyotes could definitely use the day off between the first two rounds. Lets hope Omaha can knock off the Leathernecks tonight.

Three teams with statement wins tonight.
Western Illinois 87 at NDSU 60 Oral Roberts 35 at SDSU 82 IUPUI 67 at Denver 45
The Coyotes have their work cut out for them. The games at IUPUI and at WIU to end the year could be as large of a swing to determine whether they finish first or fourth.

Western Illinois just defeated the Jacks by 6. When Western Illinois was up one there was a scramble for the ball and the officials gave the Leathernecks a time out with less then 30 seconds left when it didn't look like they had possession. Aaron Johnston lost it and was given a technical foul allowing Western Illinois to make 2 free throws and forcing the Jacks to foul. The calls were going mostly for WIU. Johnston basically ruined his teams chances for a good chance to win the game. It may not have mattered but Johnston kind of sealed their fate. In a way I don't blame him but in that situation you can't get t'd up. There is a good chance that the number 1 seed could be decided in the last game for the Coyotes in Macomb. That all remains to be seen but the Coyotes have their work cut out for them when they travel east in a week.

USD definitely has a tough road yet. I do like that we can control our own destiny.
Western Illinois looks really good where they are probably going to be the regular season conference champ this year....................I mean the lady jacks are still the favorite this year, and next year, and the year after that, and that. The jacks bench could beat WIU on any night.
