Biggest game of the year against the Leathernecks. They don't get enough respect in my mind by the polls, which often are just something fun to look at. I think USD will come out with the some fire after the dud 42 point performance in the Jungle. I'm gonna predict a 78-72 loss unless they improve on their last game.

Big challenge for the season finale. Both teams fighting for all the marbles. I honestly don't know what to expect here. The 'Necks have been dynamic all season, and the Yotes have shown dominance at times, inconsistency at others. Nothing would surprise me as far as an outcome.
WIU has pretty much done the same thing all season, but teams have had a hard time scoring on their aggressive zone defense. I liked how we battled back in our last game against them, but the deficit was too large.
If we can play all game like we did in the second half we might have a shot. Maybe AA will finally have another big game.
Yotes win 80-76

Western Illinois and their crowd will be fired up for this one. I think the Coyotes will play better then they did at IUPUI but I think WIU wins the game 89-75. I do think the Coyotes get revenge at the Summit League Tournament in Sioux Falls on that Monday afternoon. Home crowd advantages are big in college basketball and I think are even bigger in Women's college basketball.

Barring something strange happening, I think the Yotes are in a good spot. With an L, we get to run at a team who just beat us in the semi's, and 2 games in a week gives an advantage to the team that lost first (as long as the teams are relatively even talent-wise). With a W, we get the day off. However, if it is a blow-out L, that could shake confidence...

All things being equal I'll take the win and the 3rd consecutive title. Any of the top 4 teams will make for a challenging semifinals, IMO.

You are right and a win against Western Illinois on their home court makes the Coyotes become pretty dangerous in Sioux Falls especially with the off day. At least their is a silver lining if the game doesn't go well today which isn't the worse position in the world, especially considering that any of the top 4 teams will be big favorites in their first round games. Those that have to drive any distance are really hoping for a full dose of Coyote basketball on Saturday and an off days on Sunday. I have an interesting question for the masses. If you could choose either senario would you rather have happen. 1) The Men lose today and end up the #2 seed with the women winning resulting in a co conference title and also the #2 seed. 2) The Men win and win the conference title and #1 seed with the women losing and being the #4 seed. I choose option 2 if I absolutely had to choose and I value the men and women equally in my routing interest.

The gym is nearly full at Western Hall. They were very loud against SDSU and they will be at least as loud tonight. Composure will be the biggest test for the Coyotes today. It's gonna take a great effort and then some to come out with a win.

The WIU announcers are saying that USD can get the #1 seed with a win but I believe they are mistaken.

15-5 Coyotes. Kind of a dream start. The best way to beat this team is to step on the gas pedal and never let the foot off of it. The Coyotes have been aggressive and need to stay that way. Really nice for the red so far.

I love Coach P's strategy of rotating her forwards. Taylor F. playing more early minutes than usual. She must be impressing in practice. She drew a charging foul from WIU's best player giving her 2 PF's early. When you have the ability to rotate bigs, I think it will help with fouls, allowing them to play more aggressively. Love it.

25-18 Yotes at the end of 1. Western hit two late threes to trim a 13 point deficit. The Coyotes are moving the ball well and the Necks have no answer for Fogg inside. The Yotes are definitely having an answer for the WIU defense. This game is coming down to the Coyote D. If it is there this can be a win if not it will still be a tough task.

Someone please tell this announcer to stop calling Allison and Bridget "Renz". It's not a silent "A" Fella.

40-40 at half. The good thing about this game is that the Coyotes are a more discipline team than WIU. The Leathernecks tend to take bad shots and will just launch threes at a moments notice. If the Coyotes can bait WIU they may shoot themselves right into the Coyote trap. When Dawn talks about wanting players that are flexible and good all around players this is the exact type of game where that is kind of a necessity. Everyone needs to be able to pass and score and for sure be patient. If the Coyotes can continue to be disciplined and just get a hand in the face of their shooters they can come out on top but it will take another good half of basketball.

59-52 WIU after 3. The Coyotes are making some very bad turnovers today. Mainly on just careless passes, the unforced kind of turnovers. The end of the 3rd was not very good for the Yotes. Western stepping up their intensity and the Yotes are not. At least the Coyotes are hanging in there but to win the intensity level must go up.

Emily Clemens is a major flopper. Got away with two in a row and Coach P not happy!
