Wouldn't it be cool if the Iowa Hawkeyes made the trip to the SCSC to pay back for the men playing in Iowa City.

According to the web site the bracket with matchup and times and dates will be announced around 10:30PM Central so we will have to be patient for a couple of hours.

Some matchups that would be fun to see.
Colorado State in the return of Ryun Williams
Missouri State since we didn't play them in football
North Dakota since we need to show them that Summit is boss
Oklahoma State since I can't recall ever playing them in a significant sport
Wright State because they are in kind of a similar conference and we really need to start a Horizon vs Summit challenge like the Big 10 vs ACC challenge but make it men's and women's basketball.
Colorado since we need to show the Pac 12 that we own them in this tourney
Indiana and Iowa because it is always fun to beat up on the Big 10 and we need to do more of that outside of Minnesota and Illinois
Utah - because they owe us a game at the SCSC for playing them out there last year eventhough this tourney has nothing to do with that. We still need some pay back though and of course another beat down of the Pac 12.
Wyoming - I super want revenge on this team but since we played them it might take 2 or 3 rounds to get to them.
My prediction is that the Coyotes host North Dakota in the first round. My hope is that the keep the 2 South Dakota schools away from each other for the purpose of allowing both to continue to draw good attendance as seperate entities. We will see if the WNIT looks at that as well. I think the Jacks and Coyotes will matchup in the second round if both win their first round game.

Regionalization is a big factor in determining opponents in the WNIT (note how we played Creighton in the 1st round the last two years). The most local teams in the field for us would be state, UND, Iowa, Colorado, Colorado State, Wyoming, and Missouri State.
I would predict an early game against UND if not for those in between here and Grand Forks. I don't know how the committee feel about rematches, maybe they'll give us UND to avoid giving them an early rematch.
I would love a game against Colorado State and all their former Yotes, or Iowa just for some symmetry.

I would enjoy seeing another SDSU vs. USD game, but I hate the thought of it happening in the first or second round. I can't imagine the owners of the WNIT putting it beyond that.

Can't be the first round because of tournament rules but it's almost inevitable for the second round. Can't bank on both teams making deep runs this year (or any year). They're all about making money so i'd definitely put my $$$ on the 2nd round

A fitting rematch! We opened the SCSC with them, now opening the postseason with them.

Iowa (assuming they beat MO St) would be a challenging second round opponent. If we were to get by them, it would set up a possible rematch with State. Hard to look too far ahead, though.
