Walsh didn't touch it - we should get a chance.

Still 1.5 left right? USD has chance to tie. Looks like it, my phone gave me an alert and I thought it was final as usually the stream is behind a little.

I don't think it was deflected, but even if they didn't start the clock we had no chance on that inbound.
How long was that review? 10 minutes?

That was a completely BS ending. What looks like Walsh touching it is the ball going under/right of his hand. The overhead camera angle shows it clearly.
It was a 1 in a hundred chance to tie, but we deserved the chance...

I have two trains of thought on this game.
We are excited about this near miracle comeback. If the Coyotes had tied it up it would have been probably a NCAA record for the largest comeback with such little time left to do it. Of course the Coyotes aren't going to quit and they didn't and deserve credit for that.
On the other hand they dug themselves a 24 point hole with 6:00 to go. If the Coyotes had forced OT this would have been all over sport center and it may have been nominated for an ESPY. The point is the Coyotes did not start playing ball until it was too late. It was only a little too late but too late none the less.
I love this team and they have heart but they should have played better much earlier in the game and then they might have won it.

The UCLA Announcers talked the refs into looking for a tipped ball after the refs decided to redo the 1.4 seconds. The announcers talked the refs into the tipped pass to make the game over. We got homered really bad

And if Armstrong's shot was inconclusive, how the $%#& is it not inconclusive (thus you go with what as originally called) after 7 minutes of review?

What the hell just happened? I only have radio. 1.5 seconds left in the game, Logan Power throws the inbound pass to Armstrong on the other side of the court to try a 3 to tie. Clock operator started running the clock on Power's throw so the buzzer sounded once it got to Armstrong. Officials go to the scorer's table because that was clearly an error. They then delayed the game for 10 minutes, went back and forth between the scorer's table and Steve Lavin (commentator, former UCLA coach) about 4 times, and decided that the defender of the inbound pass got one skin cell on the ball, upholding the play on the court. Smith was pissed, and rightfully so. That was an absolute circus and you can't say with any microcosm of certainty that the ball was deflected. On a 3/4 court heave you should see a modification of the ball's trajectory.

It will be interesting to hear Coach Smith on the post game to see what happened on the ruling at the end.

Again, to recap, after not calling the travel on Hands, the refs overturn their call on the final play because UCLA's former coach said they should.
WTF??

We should have had the ball under our basket, down 2, and with the final possession. The other commentator (not Lavin) kept going back to that missed travel.
I can't believe that I can even say that when we were down by 24 with under 5 minutes left.

I am not able to watch this but does anyone know if the tip was ruled by the player that was guarding the inbounds pass or if the tip happened just before it got to Armstrong. If it happened just before it got to Armstrong than I don't believe the Coyotes got a fair shake. If it happened right out of the inbounder's hands than the right conclusion would have been made.
