So of course the Jacks board is having a melt down right now, but ya know what, they should be having a melt down. I wish this board would go in melt down mode every now and then. If I were a Jacks fans I wouldn't want to read how everything will be ok for a couple of days. This is the time to let off steam for them, not to hold it in and pretend the game never happened. Tonight is the night to question things etc. They have all off season to be reasonable and to look back at the good year they had. When fans blow off steam after their team losses a big game it means they care. I just got through snooping there; first time on the bunny board and I think my IQ dropped a few points. I swear I'll never go there again. All they're doing is bashing USD and claiming how awesome they'll be next year.

The couple times that I've been have been mind blowing.

10 turnovers today. TEN!!! I've never seen anything like it. Most I've ever seen was probably 7 turnovers in a game, maybe 8. And, honestly, it's amazing that they only lost by 35. The first 5 turnovers only had them -7 in the score column. Either Christon was desperate to go home, or it turns out he actually isn't that great (SHOCKER!!!).
SDSU simply can't go to the playoffs without embarrassing themselves. I love it.

It's funny because the Jacks have a love hate relationship with TC. Some days he looks good and some days he is just off. They have criticized him on more than one occasion regarding his accuracy. I think one thing we all agree on and that is that Streveler is rarely ever questioned here. He is the total player so it is a no wonder he is the one up for the Payton award and TC is not. Many Jacks fans just cannot admit when one thing is better at SD. Mooney probably wouldn't start on their basketball team, Streveler probably doesn't even make their roster. It's actually quite ridiculous.

Not surprisingly the Argus Loser is still on the bunny bandwagon. Headlines "James Madison Upends Jacks" instead of "Jacks Got Their *sses Whiped" and Zimmer's article headlines "Despite Ugly Ending All Is Not Lost For SDSU". Maybe he means San Diego State!

Its almost like roles are reversed in SD State is the problem. In ND its the university. What fun that game was. We had to watch on radio and were able to switch to our streaming movie early! I kept an eye on live stats but even the over/under was gone early.

I'll admit I didn't really care if SDSU won or lost (just indifferent to their FB team, I guess). That said, the idea that this wasn't the year the stars were aligned is ridiculous. And they still got embarrassed. They had upsets in their bracket to allow for an extra home game against a lousy team, they didn't have to go through Fargo, and other than dings to Goedert, none of their key players suffered major/season-ending injuries. JMU & NDSU have each lost 3 or 4 key players.
They believe they belong in the conversation with NDSU/JMU/others with routine legit shot, even though, as CF mentioned earlier, their playoff experience has been atrocious. My take is that if they want to keep saying they are really a top-5 type team, they deserve to be made fun of relentlessly like the Bison fans make fun of SHSU on AGS.

I usually find Zimmer to be fairly objective but he embarrassed himself with that front page puff piece. Maybe he wrote it after a few rounds in the airport bar with coach Eck, aka, EEEECK I HAVE A CRAMP.
It will be interesting to hear KWSN's Craig and John try to sprinkle fresh rose petals on that steaming pile of bunny effort.
My prediction is a soon to be announced Stig retirement. Can't believe the big money supporters will settle for this type of ending to their widely heralded national championship season

I tried to figure out when the last time a team had double digit turnovers in a game but couldn't find anything. I did get a few fun stats out of it though:
The record for most turnovers in a FCS game is 12 back in 1982.
Youngstown State only had 9 turnovers all season. USD had 10 turnovers in the regular season. 10 in one game, in the biggest game in program history, is just mind boggling.

If the Argus hadn't given them a favorable headline, the majority of their readers would've threatened to pull their subscription - can't afford to lose anymore subscriptions. As far as TC's performance, I've said it before and will continue to say it, he has only looked good the past couple years because of Goedert and Weineke. He will be exposed in a HUGE way next year without those two. Don't know the exact stats from yesterday, but if you dont count completions to his All Americans, TC had more completions to the JMU secondary yesterday than he did to bunny receivers. I notice yesterday on twitter that Coach Eck was getting blown up big time for his #notmymvp comment. That was fun to see.

I don't think I've ever seen a QB have a worse day than Christon did. 6 INTs and 3 unforced fumbles. His passes were insanely off target all day and he couldn't even hold onto the ball. Did he break his hand or something? Did he forget which hand he is supposed to throw with? How do you even come back from a performance like that? He has to go through an entire offseason thinking about this game, and I'm sure he will be unsettled also knowing that he loses his only two targets.
I can't believe they found a way to put up a turd that stands with their Montana game.

Can only imagine the negative article that would have been written if USD had lost to Sam Houston by that margin and turned the ball over 10 times on the way setting an FCS playoff record for turnovers. There would be no silver lining presented. SDSU certainly has recruited talent and will continue to recruit talent, but this was as good of a chance as they have ever had to win it all and they literally threw it away. Next year their OL will be a little better IMO, but their WRs will be worse. TC seems to have thrived on big body WR targets with a huge catch radius. I think their defensive front will not be as stout at the point of attack, but they will be a little more productive and athletic at the DE spot. SDSU will be a bubble playoff eligible team next year. The best teams in the FCS have dominant defenses and SDSU is far from that. It is also my largest concern for USD. USD has to develop a defense that is much better or they will not be in a position to compete late in the season/playoffs.

The stronger-for-longer defense will come with depth. The USD coaching staff has been good at recruiting. It seems to me they focus on Iowa and bordering states while competing for the SD players. The Yote depth is going to, well, get deeper.
Coaching helps recruiting too. Players will prefer a school where coaches will improve their play. I think USD has that. I'm not sure about SDSUs reputation on that aspect. They are so up and down it almost seems like they rely on the natural talent of the recruits they get to carry them. They have had some steller players.
