So The top two seeds are set on the Men's side: #1 SDSU #2 USD
Denver and Ft Wayne will be the #3 and #4 seeds in some order: 7-6 Denver (@ WIU) 7-6 Ft. Wayne (vs. SDSU) ***Ft. Wayne wins any tie (Head-to-Head)
#5-#7 will be interesting: 5-9 ORU (done playing) #5 or #6 4-9 NDSU (@ Omaha) -#5 or #7 4-9 Omaha (vs. NDSU) #6 or #7 ***NDSU wins any tiebreaker (win over USD) ***ORU wins a tie with Omaha (Head-to-Head)
#8 WIU (loses any tiebreaker)

So our first-round opponent could be NDSU or Omaha based on their Head-to-Head game Saturday. (1:00)
Our second-round opponent could be Ft. Wayne or Denver based on the other two games. (6:00 and 7:00)

(6:00 and 7:00) Tossup on who I'd rather the opponent be in the first round, but if the Yotes make the semis I think I would prefer playing Denver. Split with them in the regular season I know, but that just might help with the focus. Ft Wayne scares me. I just think that they have the potential to go off on any given night. All the teams do, but them more them others. Men's bracket could be wild.

I guess I'd rather not play a team in the first round whose best players are seniors (who might want to go out in a blaze of glory). Since that certainly defines NDSU, I'll be cheering for them to beat Omaha.

For those of you wanting to avoid the Bison in the first round that wish is off to a good start as NDSU leads Omaha early down in Nebraska 25-12. If The Bison win they will be higher than the 7th seed.

The Bison have closed out Omaha 84-62 and that is why they are still a reason when they have their heads together are still a pretty good team. Depending on the tie breaker they will either be the 5 or 6 seed. It looks like we have a match up against Omaha in the first round. Maybe I am jinxing the Coyotes but that is exactly who I wanted the Yotes to play. My guess is that the Coyotes will end up with Denver as the #3 seed but that is still to be determined. I would not mind Fort Wayne and NDSU in the 4/5 match up if that is possible but maybe ORU will finish in the 5 spot and now that I think of it I do believe ORU will be the 5 seed.

SDSU beat Fort Wayne 97-90. I am sorry but as much as the Jacks like to claim they play defense there is no comparison to how the Coyotes and Rabbits play D against a team like Fort Wayne. I watched the live play by play (not video) and all the Jacks were doing was jacking up threes at the end of the game. They made enough to win but that is not always going to work. The Coyotes play the more predictable type of game and the Jacks can either be lethally good or average depending on the three. I don't mind when teams put up threes but there are times in a game where a team needs to be able to make tough baskets at the hoop.
Denver is ahead of WIU 59-28 with 12:00 to go in the game.
It appears this will be the bracket and it is one I don't mind as a Coyote fan.
1) South Dakota State vs 8) Western Illinois 4) Fort Wayne vs 5) NDSU
3) Denver vs 6) Oral Roberts 2) South Dakota vs 7) Omaha
Honestly I could not have hand picked a better bracket. I really couldn't have. If Fort Wayne was flipped with Denver I would not have minded because I think USD matches up well with the Dons and has the team to shut them down.
The Coyotes got screwed over with their bracket last year and now the Jacks I believe are getting the same thing this year. If the Coyotes don't get to the final game this year it may not happen for years to come.
