I feel worried about this women's team similar to the Seekamp year where we had already beat them twice and they were evenly matched.

This is were we hope to see the 3 games in 4 days favor our much deeper team. We will also have to see how Guebert's knee holds up today - she really struggled to move side to side after hurting it yesterday. (Side note - I have no idea why she went back in the game, since it was already a blowout.) Need Duffy to have a good game.

I think the big difference is that this year's team is more balanced...much younger, but balanced. Also, the defense has been tremendous. As the old adage goes...Defense wins championships! The present and future looks extremely bright for the women's team. Go Yotes!

Yeah, I agree. in 2014-15 our offense was tremendous, but I remember being frustrated at the championship game watching State driving the lane and scoring in the paint almost at-will. In 2015-16 that team was special, and won the WNIT, but I still don't think we led the conference in defense (like we do this year)

(Side note - I have no idea why she went back in the game, since it was already a blowout.) Yeah, that WAS puzzling. I don't question that SHE probably pushed to go back in. She's a gamer. I do question why A.J. let her, though. Gotta protect your players from themselves, sometimes.

Any insights on whether the game will be called tight or loose? Typically in tournament games you see the refs letting them play more. I feel like that was how the SDSU-WIU game was called, for the most part. Hopefully that continues, because I feel like that favors our style of play.

We need our post defenders to play really well. It took a while to figure out how to defend the high pick and roll in Vermillion and they ate us up doing it until later in the second half. I love our depth and balance which allows Coach P to move pieces around if someone isn't playing their best.

But in the end, I think this game will come down to who makes 3's. If we make a higher percentage, we probably win, otherwise, probably not. Both teams rely fairly heavily on the 3 so hopefully they fall today.

Both teams rely fairly heavily on the 3 so hopefully they fall today. You have a good analysis there about the threes. Since both teams are fairly good with covering the lane it could very well come down to that. Guebert's status becomes even more important if that is the case as well. She is probably their best three point shooter. One thing that I think could play a big factor is how composed the Coyotes were in the last 5 minutes in the game in Vermillion and how they came from behind to win. If they find themselves in a similar situation that experience can do nothing but help.

3/13 in 1st quarter and down by 6. I'm surprised it isn't worse with that percentage.

We just don't have a strong offense. Duffy and maybe Trimboli look like the only people who can go against them but. Arens looks very scared. And as much as I like McKeever, she doesn't keep her head up on offense and constantly misses open people. Hopefully we can make some 3's to keep it interesting.

The offense has been strong all year just can't make a shot. Shooting 22% and 2-14 won't give you many leads.

3 baskets underneath and a bunch of forced 3s. Yotes have no answer for this defense right now.
