It's fairly easy to be "outcoached" when the opposition has someone like #22 planted on the low block. Quite simply, she's the best post player I've ever seen in women's hoops. This team was a pleasure to watch and in my humble opinion this season was nothing but a resounding success and the arrow should be pointed up for next season.

Great year Lady Yotes!! Admire your toughness, grit, selfless attitude--didn't care who scored, got rebounds, etc. A joy to watch!! Can't wait for the 2018-19 season to begin! Best of luck Kate, Jasmine and Caitlin with your future endeavors and thanks for the memories!!!

Her teammates seem to have perfected their "high-point" pass to her in the post. Just like a QB pass to a TE or tall WR. There were some passes that seemed like they were going out-of-bounds, but she would reach out past the line and reel them in. It happened enough times, that I'm sure it was by design. She was virtually unstoppable once she was directly under the basket with the ball. Very talented. Tough loss, but I left feeling that the girls left everything out there on the court. The long ball just didn't drop enough tonight.

Coyote Women's Basketball just continues to deliver again this year. They have given Coyote fans so much over the past 10-20 years. They have been the rock program of this University. What a season it was. As a fan I had a chip on my shoulder all year kind of using the lack of respect card like I like to do. It seems like the players feed into that same mentality because they play so damn hard. The undefeated conference run was so gripping and the closer it got the more it was fun to just dream and wish a little that they could possibly pull it off and they did.
As far the the WNIT I thought the fist 2 rounds in the 2016 run were more difficult that year. This year I thought rounds 3 and 4 were just brutal. Michigan State and TCU back to back. In 2016 it was UNI and Western Kentucky. The Coyotes can pretty much play with anyone in the country outside the very elite. Michigan State and TCU are easily tourney worthy teams and I heard on the post game that TCU beat a very good Texas team earlier. These are legit top 20 or 30 teams in the country. Maybe even a little higher than top 20 but probably not much.
I thought Allison Arens look good today. If you want to talk about athleticism she doesn't give much in that category as she was able to get to the hoop today very effectively. She has a nice burst to the rim.
Next year we will have a solid core to build around of A Arens, Duffy, Lamb, Bradley, McKeever and Frederick. We will add the New Mexico transfer Sjerven which should make for a very nice first 7. I think Monica Arens will make a step forward next year. It will be interesting to see if Korngable or Kunzer can make more of a contribution next year and of course there will be some incoming freshman as well.

Despite that a fan just couldn't ask for more out of a team. They were truly a pleasure to watch this year. Also kiyoat, muchos gracias for all the work you did on looking up info, posting stats and strengths and weakness' of the opposition this season. Above and beyond and some really good info provided.

...The coach for TCU said after the game that she was so happy when the clock hot 0.0 because she was waiting for that next USD run. ... Where did you hear this? I'm having a hard time finding any postgame quotes or interviews for TCU. There wasn't anything for MSU either. And on that note, I want to give a shout out to our coach and players (and administration) for providing our fans so much access with the post-game press conferences. I'm sure that after a tough loss it is a lot harder to step up to that microphone than after a win, and yet they do it every time, win lose or draw. They do it for the fans, and we should recognize that. I think it's a great opportunity for the athletes, too. Programs that don't require or ask for the athletes to speak after the games are missing a growth and character-building opportunity IMHO. It takes a lot of maturity and poise to break down the game when you are fighting back tears. Our girls have done an outstanding job representing the state and the University.

TCU coach made those comments with Kelly Stewart at the end of the game.

She was on the post game press conference that USD does and puts on Facebook. It is also available on Coyote Vision on the Goyotes.com website. Their coach also had this to say: (from the TCU website) "This was one of the toughest games that we've had to play all season. This environment, the physicality of the game, the challenge to our defense and the toughness that South Dakota played all rival any other game we've played. We feel very fortunate to be able to get out of this arena with a win." - Raegan Pebley Pretty high praise from a coach who sees Power 5 conference competition all season.
