FOR THE WEEK OF OCT 20:
USD is slated for another great game. This is another one where The Yotes look good on the road. From the bottom up the running game is disturbing and YSU has a decent pass defense.
Dance with the gal you brought so pass against these guys, get that working, maybe get a lead and they might be able to run some clock.
Rush for a few first downs, make em stack it up when its short yardage opening up some square footage for a good receiver corps. USD can win this one. I think they cover too and over for fun.
Another big week for UNI and another good game for all of us. They will be back at the UNI Dome. Not exactly my favorite place but it has always been nice because of the people, the pizza and the stadium set-up. Great tailgating and easy parking too.
This is another test for the Jacks. A little shakey they are good and by the process of elimination they have risen to second place in the country. Ripe for an upset this could be it. That's a heck of a spread. I think UNI is playing better ball than their statistical profile admits. The Jacks can win but covering will be tough. Look for the upset.
The Bears and the Leather Necks. After yesterday I have to take MSU. They are not backing down while building a competitive team profile. It's good to see the Bears wake up a little. They have everything to be good and they are moving in the right direction.
It's possible SIU has packed it in. Lennon didn't do that program any favors. They were faced with a rebuild. It's been hard but they do have great facilities and I always thought a decent budget. They should be better but they aren't. The Sycamores are a srappy football team. They are an inspiration to the league. I look for them to win this one handily.
Then there's the Bison. Big game on Saturday. The Fabulous Fargo Dome will be rocking. Tailgate should be crazy. Like they say up there "out side tailgating, inside football, it doesn't get any better". The game will be every bit as good as the GAM says it might be.
The teams look very close on paper. The Bison are slightly more efficient on offense, have a slightly stingier defense and are playing at home.
One thing about the Bison. They allow a lot of yards - 2,688 - but are very stingey when it comes to scoring. This gives them one of the best defensive coefficiency ratings in the country. That's been hard for teams to overcome. I don't expect the Red Birds to have any more success than anyone else but there is a real good chance of an upset.
I take NDSU. They will cover but I'm taking the under. I have to regret something don't I?
