The Coyotes travel to take on the Salukis (6-2) next, who just demolished Western Illinois 63-0. I consider that game to be an outlier since WI is having a dismal season at 0-8 and giving up an average of 48 ppg and only scoring 14 ppg.
Even counting that game's stats, SIU is averaging 129 ypg rushing and 232 passing vs the Yote's at 147 and 186, so totals are very close.
The Coyotes need to play an intense, clean game for 60 minutes to be successful!
The Salukis are selling tickets for $5 to try and get max attendance.
GO GET EM YOTES!!!

Huge game for our men, we can't let one bad one turn into two. This would be a monumental win for us on the road coming oof last weekend.

I am very excited to see how this team responds after a tough loss. This game is monumental for the playoffs and the MVFC standings. I think the winner of this game will be in position for a strong regular season finish and a deep playoff run. As always, GO YOTES.

At this point, this game feels like the difference between a playoff seed or possibly going on the road in the first round (and missing that valuable by week). Very critical game.

Looking at the stats, this should be a tight game. SIU doesn’t do anything particularly well on offense, but are just solidly mediocre across the board aside from their third down efficiency which is worst in the conference.
Their defense, however, is great. They hold opponents to 2.7 yards per rush (Isaiah Davis got 6.1 on them though) and have the best defensive efficiency in the conference.
I predict we show up angry and win a low scoring fight. “Only angry people win football games.” - Darrell Royal

It's probably a fair line. We haven't earned favorite status against good teams.

I would love nothing more than to see us win on Saturday and make a statement. Play smart. Play hard. Play disciplined. Play mature.

The great thing about this team is they are capable of doing just that. Hopefully, they are firing on all cylinders tomorrow and bring home the W! It will take a great effort, as it's on the road and SIU is a formidable opponent. There is a path to a really nice playoff spot, one step at a time!

Still a lot of season left and winning out the last 3 games of the regular season will get us a top 8 seed, which means a first round bye and a second round home game. A top 4 seed will require some help for others, but if we win out and SDSU steam rolls their last 3 opponents, we have a shot.
In either scenario, it all depends on a W tomorrow.

If we can't win 8 games with the schedule we had this year, it's going to be tough sledding.

If we can't win 8 games with this schedule?? Say what? The next 2 opponents are nationally ranked, I don't think there's anything guaranteed over the next couple weeks. If we win both games or 1 of the next two, it will be a tremendous accomplishment. We've beaten who we should have beaten and earned huge wins vs NDSU and Youngstown State. We have lost to 2 extremely good football teams.

We have lost to 2 extremely good football teams. There's nothing wrong with our 2 losses. I'm just saying we had 3 cupcakes on the schedule early that makes us look better. Not exactly Montana state. The next two games will tell us a lot about what we really have in terms of the roster and coaching staff. If you want to consistently finish in the top half of thur conference you have to win your home games and beat the lesser teams on the road. So far we've done that, state excluded. I'm a pessimistic fan in general until a team proves me wrong. They did once in Fargo and I hope they do it again this weekend and carry some momentum into UND. I'm just not terribly confident after getting wrecked last weekend. I've been let down too many times over the years. I want to believe things are different this year but I don't get my hopes up.

Playing a money game and two cupcakes is exactly what we should be doing this year, and any other year that we are members of the MVFC. Our strength-of-schedule is plenty difficult without playing Big Sky opponents on top of all the Valley teams. Last year was a perfect example of what we should NOT be doing with our non-con.
This Coyote team is amazing, and we should be celebrating that instead of crying over not getting a top-8 seed (which we might still get anyway)
