Joe Glenn sure seems to know how to hit the ground running. I know if I was a recruit and saw the type of energy he brings to the table I would definately be impressed.

Remind you of anyone we know? How about Tyler Starr? Chris is really fast off the ball. Very elusive to handle straight up. Surprises me he isn't rated higher. A very good talent. Welcome to Coyote Country Chris.

Holy cow! Imagine two speed rushers on the edges.... Nice.... Exactly. Very disruptive no matter whom you are playing at any level. I like this sign. ALOT

Agree. Nice pick up out of FL for the Coyotes.

This article: blog.newsok.com/highschoolsports/2012/01/25/midwest-citys-reeves-heading-to-south-dakota/indicates that we will be getting a visit from Ricky Reeve's teammate from Midwest City Oklahoma. Ricky was an OK All-stater. His teammate, Zeke Lewis, played LB in high school, but is listed as a 5'9" 190lb Safety prospect. Regardless, the guy has a knack for the ball. He lead 6A football in OK in tackles with 169 to go with 6 sacks and an INT.

This Oklahoma connection could be huge. I follow Nebraska recruiting very closely, and I can say with full confidence, that if Petrino and Williams' inroads into OK can continue to pay dividends like they have, I would happily trade NE talent for OK talent. Let State and NDSU fight over the scraps in NE (although I could also see that changing over time as well with Glenn's ties back to NE).

Honestly, I am getting real fired up for football season right now. Can't wait for the Red/White game.
Keep the recruiting news coming Eddie.

By scraps, I meant the players left over after NU, Iowa, KU and KSU roll through the state. My point was that OK has more talent overall than Nebraska. I am well aware that NDSU is holding a trophy right now.

An (almost) complete list…
Here are the guys who are expected to sign Wednesday at USD for football, though I suspect I’m missing one or two. Reminder that we’ll be live-chatting this process beginning at 7 a.m. tomorrow. I’ll be in Vermillion for that.
This list is in addition to the three junior college players – DJ Wakes (DB), Jasper Sanders (RB) and Devin Taverna (DB) – who have already signed. There will also be a few walk-ons who are not listed:
Devin O’Farrell – Washington linebacker, early verbal, 5-11, 215. Great, physical high school football player along the lines of current USD LB Tim Marlette.
Keyen Lage, 6-2, 200-ish, possible SS or OLB. The Meierkort regime loved the potential here. They expect him to get bigger, which opens up the possibility of moving him closer to the line of scrimmage.
Jordan Roberts, Sheridan, Wyo., 5-11, 193 pounds….has family at USD, ran for 2,688 yards this past season. Probably enough said for the moment.
Darrick Jones, 5-8, 150, from Palmetto, Fla. Jones is of Jeremy Blount dimensions, which, as Blount demonstrated this past season, isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
Spencer Fox, 6-5, 265 OL, La Mirada, Calif. Not often teams around here get California offensive linemen out of high school.
Nile Banks, 6-4, 280, OL, Iowa City….The Coyotes have usually done well with guys from Iowa on the offensive line…Matt Huffer, who will be a sophomore next year, is highly regarded, as is giant Adam Praska.
Marquise Piton, 6-3, 215-pound OLB, West Broward High School, (Fla.)…this is one of those guys whose faxed letter of intent will be a welcome sight on Wednesday morning at USD offices. Sounds like Piton is not ready to pull the trigger.
Will Armstead, 175 DB, Broken Arrow, Okla….USD hasn’t had a lot of Oklahomans on the roster over the years. Recruiting influence of new DC Jason Petrino, last at Central Oklahoma, and new DL coach Marquice Williams, is evident.
Ricky Reeves, 5-11, 175, 4.5 40, Midwest City, Okla….another whose signed letter will be celebrated.
Jasper Washington, DB, 5-11, 170…a very good, athletic high school quarterback who will be playing on the other side of the ball in college. Another who has had a stocky list of other suitors.
Tyson Graham, 6-2, 190, WR, Highlands Christian (Fla). Will Powell-sized WR who runs a 4.6… verbally committed quickly.
Ryan Saeger (6-4, 205) QB, Arrowhead HS (Wis). He’s big and his stats say he can run, though he’s classified as a drop-back guy. Lots of QBs a few years ahead of him on the roster.
Matt Miller, 6-5, 235, TE, Omaha Skutt…I’ve never seen a coach break out champagne at USD, but when that fax arrives…
Chris Wiseman, 6-4, 220, DE, Lee’s Summit, Mo…a three-star Rivals guy that verballed with Ed Meierkort, backed off, then got on again. Among the highest regarded players expected to sign today and an indication – along with several others on this list – that the Meierkort-led recruiting effort was being well-executed.
Mike Meinert, 6-3, 275, OL, St. Joseph, Mo. – had an impressive list of schools that were at least talking to him – not yet offering – when he committed to USD.
Sean Bredl, 6-4, 230, DL, Cedar Rapids Washington – good athlete, starts on the basketball team…
Maverick Leahy, 5-11, 180, LB (long snapper), Westminister Academy (Fla.)…saw this one this morning on a list of Broward County recruits. You know why you never hear about Walter Reed? Because he’s been an excellent long-snapper for the Coyotes for three years. No screw-ups. Next year he’s a senior.
