"I wouldn't even begin to know how to compare recruiting classes, so to say SDSU and USD's classes are comparable is kind of crazy to me. I think the ranking systems and the stars are mostly BS. Many kids shoot up those charts based solely on who is recruiting them.
I think you got a couple guys that will definitely be standouts in the conference four years from now. That's when you can compare the classes."
It's hard to compare, but based on the data put out by the services that sell this stuff, and things like size of schools represented, and statewide v local honors received, they seemed comparable to me. It's just an opinion, same as anything in sports other than raw statistics.

i live in florida in an area that is not highly recruited unless they are 2 or three star players, but there is kid down here, nikko finnegan, sebastian river highschool, honorasble mention allstate, coaches name is randy bethel, who is a stud running back. 1500 yards rushing this year, can't remember last years total, but also a stud wrestler and runs track. he has somewhat of an offer from stetson who's football program doesn't start for another year, i contacted wesly beschorner about him via email thru the u's website but haven't heard back from him. i'm not sure if he is fcs material or not, but if there is anyone on here that can work a computer better than me and has someones ear as they say, take a look at this kid. can anyone remember josh ranek? would have liked to seen him in a coyote uniform. i contacted wesly's brother joe a few years back about another running back, same school, 2nd team allstate, and he called the coach but turned out he was not academically eligible. could be a diamond in the rough. anyways, i'm really looking forward to next year, hopefully these new recruits and coach glenn can turn this ship around.

Musclehead,
If you post something there are enough people that read the board that I am sure someone will make mention of this kid. I think anyone from the state of Florida that is halfway decent is worth a look.
I look at the year of 2012 as hitting the reset button. Some or many tenencies that this program can be thrown out the window at this point. With Glenn at the helm we have a proven leader with proven success at the FCS level that has Coyote Red rushing through his veins. If we have the athletes like we had I can almost gaurantee we will be a better program than we were. We will certainly be more consistant. There will be no one on campus that wants to win more than our head coach. Maybe some can match but it would be hard to exceed. As I say this Glenn just got on the radio for an interview on the radio broadcast of the pregame show of the Yotes.
He is talking about how high he is on Jason Petrino. Talking about the players from Oklahoma. Now talking about the O-Line coach Brett Harvey who he won 2 national titles with.
This is a bit of a statement from me to all Coyote fans. Things won't be easy there will be challenges ahead but as a fan base we need to cheer the good things and die a little during the tough losses but we need to truley believe that we can go all the way, not just hope for it. Afterall when is the last time that a Coyote head coach hired on that had the resume that Joe Glenn brings to the table.

i noticed on the usd roster that chris wiseman, the 2 or 3 star recruit from missouri was not listed when several other freshman were, plus one from wisemans hometown. did he enroll or is he not listed for redshirt reasons?

I don't believe any of the incoming freshmen class is on the roster. The only freshmen I see noted are the RS FR that practiced with the team all of last year.

you're right, i didn't notice the rs in front of there eligibility status, my mistake. don't they add freshman to the roster? or do they wait till fall practices to see if they are redshirting their first year or if they think they are capable of getting some playing time, a.k.a. will powell?

I believe the correct answer is you have to be enrolled at a school before you can be listed as a participant. Once they get to campus they will get enrolled and then added to the roster.

Ryan Hillier was a year ahead of Wiseman on the LSW football team. Wiseman will be there when camp starts in August.

It appears that the website has changed. Possibly to match the rest of the MVC teams. Also the roster seems to have changed from Spring some players are not on it. It may just be an oversight.
