It doesn't take a genius to realize that this team needs height. Does anybody know how many spots we have open to fill yet for the class of 2012?
I ask because I see on Rivals that 6'9" 225lb. PF TreVaun Hymer or Omaha Burke shows an offer from USD, and has not committed anywhere. I am slightly fearful of why a kid that is 6'9" doesn't have a bigger offer, but I digress.
This would seem to be the PERFECT kid to close out our 2012 class.

I do think it should be noted on this board that the Kasperbauer kid we signed out of Carroll was recently named 1st team All-State in Iowa. He is really a good ball player and has a great 3 point shot.
Now we need some size and bangers to take some heat off Trev.

Kasperbauer is a good catch. His dad was a very good athlete and was an excellent quarterback for Dakota State in the early 1970s...his team went to the only bowl game DSU attended, the 1971 Boot Hill Bowl (NAIA bowl game from held 1970 to 1980 in Dodge City, KS...Dakota State beat Northwestern Oklahoma State 23-20). [That Dakota State team, incidently, had some great athletes including one who made it to the pro's, Darwin Robinson.]

the Rowson verbal was already on Twitter....
Without Saint-Gelais and Mabbutt, and with Andreotti graduating, the Coyotes are in desparate need for size. Look for a few other jucos.

I hope they turn out better and stay longer than last year's jucos.

The Yotes need to focus on building 4 year players. I am affraid Boots is taking the convenient way out which might be good to stay a float for awhile but I think to really succeed the Yotes need to go out and recruit their tails off and get those promising high school kids. The more juco's that come in the more turnover that happens as a result. One trend that I wish would change is that the Yotes seems to lose a ton of good players to graduation every year. When the best players only stay for a couple of years that is going to happen much more than to programs that stay away from Juco's. I would rather bite the bullet with a few too many freshman for awhile than to always have the ever rotating rapid carousel of graduation.

Per Jeremy Hoeck tweet: South Dakota men's basketball got a commitment from 6-7 post Eric Robertson, a Maple Grove, Minn. native who is at IMG Academy in Florida.

Heard Tyler Filipek is wanting to get closer to home. Maybe they should pursue him.

Is it fair to say that its going to get worse before it gets better? We are loosing a lot from a pretty average team.

Yeah, the P&D had that link out a week before Terry, just saying. Maybe USD should start going after these two....http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/dave-telep/post?id=1174

I have stated it before, and I will state it again, USD mens basketball team needs some changes in the coaching department. It is very evident that this current staff is not interested in the needs of USD, we have players from local area that wish to return closer to home and we don't pursue them? I would be terribly shocked if we do not lose more of our talent before the next season. I wonder how long Salyer will allow the bleeding off of the program before he puts a stop to it? Sorry about the blunt rant, but it is hard to see any real effort put forth buy this staff. I just get the gut feeling they are more interested in collecting a check than advancing the program.

Littleyote,
I am sorry, but after covering the local talent the last few years, very few of them are able to play at a D-II level, let alone the D-I level. Look at the players from Mitchell, going D-II at the highest. Zach Kraning may by a D-I player, but tore his ACL. Cory Jacobsen walked on at SDSU. Zach Horstman was hooked into SDSU and that's really the best D-I player the state has had since Louie Krogman. Cody Larson may be good, but he was just pumped up by the Argus so much that it's hard to tell. Horstman had a decent freshman year. Some of the best talent in SD is usually a pretty good get for the NAIA schools in the state.
