Perhaps you can get new people to see your product (a much improved overall talent wise product) than they saw when they last attended a game. Also perhaps some will notice the ferver the NDSU fans have for their team. I believe the SDSU fan base has stepped up partly as a result of focusing and paying attention to a manufactured rivalry with NDSU.

Sorry USDfbalum, formeryote is right the game belongs in Vermillion. You're right, I am openly saying I won't support it and hope it fails so they never try it again. You know this isn't some anonymous statement either since you've known me for a long time.
Formeryote, maybe less fans, but I'm confident there will be more NDSU fans than USD fans at the game. If it's on Midco, I'll also predict the bars to be packed with fans watching the game from downtown Vermillion rather than travelling to Howard Wood.

I agree that all home games should be in Vermillion. Unfortunately all is not well in terms of attendance. I am open to try whatever we can to grow attendance. Besides winning - what do you suggest to get 5K more to Vermillion on game day?

Which has better short and long term implications....a loss in Sioux Falls or a win in the Dome?
I think, clearly, SD is better off with a win in the Dome! Even a win in SF will not contribute as much to the "game day" experience in the short or long term.
This is a set back anyway you look at it. Unless of course this is the price tag for the new arena!

Winning and even more tailgating. Gameday Vermillion is growing into an event. It gets bigger and bigger each season. This was supposed to be the year we really turn the corner with a full MVFC schedule and full FCS home schedule. No more D2's or NAIA. Pulling the NDSU game will KILL that momentum. Case in point, the Red/White game is this Saturday, given all that's happened now, I'm not interested and don't even want to go. I actually feel a little betrayed by this given I've sat through some real dog years in that Dome yet still showed up. Now we get the freaking National Champ hated Bison in the Dome next year and they want to move the game? Screw that.
You talk about attendance yet we have grown attendance during transition with some really crappy OOC games scheduled at home. This is the first season of a MVFC schedule. Why not see how attendance for home games is with a REAL schedule before sounding the alarm bells and shipping a game up to SF?
Yes, through all my ramblings I've kinda hit on one of the keys to curing attendance woes, better teams coming to the Dome. We now get that and they want to play in SF. Unreal.

And you honestly don't think if the game in SF was done right - SD and NDSU fans all tailgating before the game would show some people how much game days now are better because of groups like yours?

Ok, you might have a point there. Things are vastly different now with regards to the pregame activities.

I definitely believe this can be done correctly and to the benefit of USD. This is NOT the game to test the SF market with. It is not worth it when it is a detriment to USD's competitive chance in a game with the defending national champion. There are plenty of other games to experiment with this on.

Recommendation is for all Yote fans to head to the game in Sx Falls and to show our preference for future games by wearing red shirts with a picture of the Dome and the caption "Our Home".
Perhaps someone could market these shirts as a fundraising activity.

In the past ten years huge strides have been made by enhancing the game day experience and moving the game against a reigning natl champion makes zero sense.
I think you need to continue to enhance the game day experience and market that, as ten years ago there wasn’t a game day experience. Alumni remember the lack of game day experiences versus what has been created.

But if it is going to happen - why not make it a success and do it right?
If 5k NDSU fans and 3-4k SD fans are tailgating prior to the game it will send a clear message that this is a new level , a new product, and new game day experience. Make it the most electric night game the city has ever seen. I know our players (that don't get a vote in the matter) would want our support.

WOW if that's considered a win by having more NDSU fans tailgating, then it shows how awful this idea is. Why not just move it to Fargo then to give them the true homefield advantage instead of just in SF then you expect more NDSU fans tailgating...

They travel well. You are avoiding my broader point though on purpose.
