Luke Worden may be the most impressive athlete to commit yet. Fast, strong, great genetics. His sister runs track at Florida State. His Mom and Dad both hold the the Scottsbluff 100 and 200 record. Dad played at UNL in the 80s. Luke ran the second fastest 100 at the state meet all divisions as a junior.
“He plays the ball as well as anyone we have had in my 23 years at this school… This kid is a winner in every sense of the word.” Head Coach Joe Benson Scottsbluff High.
Happy to get this kid! Welcome!

Just a little history note (bear with me). USD had a heckuva QB back in the early seventies who was from Scottsbluff, name of Tom Engleman. He got hot once late in a game against Wyoming and I think would have beaten them had there been more time. Back then the Cowboys were pretty decent.
I also believe back in the '60s Sottsbluff had one of the longest FB winning streaks in the country.
Anyway, always glad to recruit speed. I agree, obc, he looks to have the raw materials.

Worden looks really impressive. Thank you for sharing the clips and the information. Looks like he has great speed, good hands, and sees the field really well. Can't wait to see that kid in a Coyote uniform. Looks like he could be in the running to start right away IMO.

With all of the AD talk in the media, it seems like recruiting news has dried up. Anybody heard any new names to add to the list?

I recall Engleman being taller, broader, and quick but nowhere near as fast as this fellow.

A few good commitments, but honestly, I think the program has a long way to go. Has anyone committed to USD, who had an offer at NDSU?

I'm sorry to have to say that USD, und, and sdsc will most likely be playing second fiddle (at best) to ndsu for a very long time. They will win the Championship this year and next and the recruits will just continue to fall in line. Makes me want to puke.

We'll see what happens if Bohl end up leaving for greener pastures, as have been rumored.

"If his sister has a track scholarship to Fla State, I am impressed. That is world class. I am sure this kid will be sought after by our track coach as well. I recall Engleman being taller, broader, and quick but nowhere near as fast as this fellow." She is... and ran the fastest 1500 in the Nation for a freshmen last year. Luke is impressed with the coaching staff, facilities, dorm rooms and the business college. It also looks like Coach Glenn is pulling in a solid well rounded class. Also loved the crowd at the UNI game! NU wanted Luke to visit in January but he felt like it would probably be a heavy walk on pitch. Here are a couple of links to an article when he committed and a highlight video of just defense and kick returns at the end: myhitnews.com/latest-ne-h-s-football-recruiting-news-scottsbluff-all-state-speedster-luke-worden-commits-to-south-dakota/www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAeFBdfDDQ4We are excited to part of the Coyote family! Hopefully. I would like to see him run the indoor 60 meters. That would be his best race...start is pretty stout.
