Probably most of you have heard by now, but I just found out that former OC Glen Caruso was named national coach of the year for NCAA Division 3 football. What a great guy and well deserved award. He coaches St. Thomas in the twin cities.
Congrats Glen

Caruso would be an excellent head coach for any upper division team that is interested in winning. He certainly has proven his abilities to recruit, hire good assistants, and execute game plans.

How about this for an idea. Get this guy in at USD as OC for a year or two than let him have the reigns of the program. USD football was at it's very best when he was in charge of the offense. If that were to happen my confidence level goes up about ALOT. Let's stop messing around with experiments and get proven guys like Caruso. It seems to me like success follows this guy. Good for him and I am happy for him. I will never forget the 2005 season when he was guiding one of the most dominant offenses in the country. If the boosters want to spend their money wisely put their cash out for him to come back.

Kind of interesting how you worded that. "Upper Division team that is interested in winning". Which upper division team do you think may be interested in winning that might want this guy to help out a bit.

I welcome you back but with constructive comments.

Yoteforever,
It's funny how you think. Getting Caruso in here is called constructive comments in my opinion. Do you want the kind of offense USD has now or had when Caruso was around. That question will have to be asked for yourself. I guess if no one is to undermine 1-10 that is up to each individual but I choose to undermine 1-10.
Do you want Wes or do you want Caruso? With a straight face answer that question and than get back to me.
Do you want to win or not?
You don't have to argue Yoteforever and you have nothing to be disappointed about because the way you want it is the way it currently is. Wes as OC and Josh as QB. Just the way you want it Yoteforever. That doesn't mean I have to agree with you and I have a right to a contrary opinion.

Then you criticize every coach we have always wanting to replace people on staff with people on your wish list. You have no clue who I am or what I want. You don't give 2 cents, and you bitched when you got moved out of your season tickets by people who did donate. You demand championship teams every year in every sport. You even have criticized the volleyball coach and I know for a fact you don't know squat about the game. Try this one on for size. I'm good friends with Meierkort, Glenn, Caruso, Wes, and every other coach. I show no preference and defer to those that know and understand. So don't spout off again about me not knowing squat, because I have forgot more about USD then you'll ever know.

Like I had anything to do with Meierkort getting fired, he got himself fired for a lack of program control and it started to show on the field. All I mentioned was that I think Glen Caruso would basically be a good choice of OC and you jumped all over me for it, like if I don't agree with you, you are determined to run me off the board again. I didn't choose to leave the board this time around I was banned and it wouldn't surprise me if you had something to do with it.
Yoteforever you are a monkey see monkey do type of person. Whatever just happens to be in place with the USD football program you want it to continue with it regardless of the results.
You haven't answered the question. Can you really look at yourself in the mirror and say Glen would not be better for this offense than Wes. Wes has done next to nothing to deserve to be OC and Josh has done next to nothing to keep his quarterback job.
Hate to tell you Yoteforever but this is big boy division 1 football. To make improvements sometimes people are going to lose their jobs or lose their status as a starter on the roster. That is how things work. This is not middle school flag football where the coaches cousin gets a spot in the starting lineup because he has a connection.
If we keep handing people things they don't deserve we are going to continue to lose football games. Sorry that I come off to ruthless because I want to see this program actually improve.

There is no one on this planet that gets under my skin more than you. Of course you had nothing to do with Meierkort getting fired , because 1.) you have no influence and 2.) you have no clue how a collegiate athletic department runs. I say why stop there. Lets get Urban Meyer, with Gus Malzone as OC. Do you have any clue what our assistants make annually? Do you have any clue how much Caruso makes? Don't be condescending with me about big boy football. I have played at that level, when I would bet my last dollar you haven't played of any significance beyond junior varsity in high school. You shoot your mouth off like you are experienced, and you don't know squat. All you do is fling names around because their name is in the paper for success here, or success there. Hell, just hire Bohl NDSU and short circuit he whole process. Lastly, I haven't banned anyone including you last time. And I never will.

Just when I thought CoyoteFan posts couldn't get worse, challenging yoteforever! Can we just make the ban permanent? It would save us so much headache.
CoyoteFan - yoteforever is one of the most successful businessman I know, and one of the top financial and emotional supporters of the Yotes. Not to mention a former football Yote. His opinion does mean something and is listened to by those that matter. I suggest next time you thank him because his support alone pays for an entire scholarship for one of our athletes. Your support pays for a glass of Gatorade, maybe. Stop the condescending negative crap, your posts drive more people away that prove productive.

Yes I do challenge a 1-10 season and everything to do with a 1-10 season. I am just going to stop right here and post no further on this topic. I could care less what Yoteforever's status is. If he supports losing football, than I don't support him. Yoteforever has likely supported every losing step of the way of the last quarter century. He may be a businessman but that doesn't mean he knows what it takes to put a winning football program on the field. I played athletics but in many cases athletes do not make good coaches or administrators.
USDlaw is obviously fully against my return to the board and also fully in the camp of Yoteforever and fully on board with basially no changes in the off season this year. I guess I don't understand the logic in that picture. Lets continue down the same path and see where that gets the team. There will need to be much consoling needed when the butt kickings continue and people keep wondering why despite no changes that things don't get better. Insanity people, insanity.
Yoteforever started this bullcrap with his post about me undermining the current staff when all I was doing was going along with an idea that many think would be a good idea trying to possibly lure a successfull coach back to USD that has a proven track record. Does Yoteforever put his money into failing ventures. Right now USD football is a failing venture. That may change at some point but as of this moment and most of the last 25 years this has been a failing football program. Sorry guys but I didn't see anything last year that showed anything remotely close to this football team being ready to be a legit member of the MVFC.
If money is the reason for not being competitive than why not just fold the program and put the funds into programs that are competitive on the field. Maybe the Yotes need to follow the path that UNO set out.

Maybe the Yotes need to follow the path that UNO set out. So you say money is the problem but you tell people to pull their money because of a losing season in which Glenn had very few of his own players and had to clean house? Interesting, once again, your lack of understanding about sports. You probably would've canned Tom Creen after his first year at Indiana. This recruiting class looks pretty legit and I think Glenn has done a great job. I do agree that it is surprising that no changes were made, but did they even have the good enough players to compete in any system? I am not convinced about Wes, but you also need an offensive line and a quarterback to pull off a successful offense, honestly. In terms of your statement about Caruso, I get it and I think he should get a shot, but I wonder if he is going to move up to be a coordinator. He probably wants to stay as a head coach since he did the whole coordinator thing already. I also get where Yoteforever is coming from because we all know what road you are going down and you haven't had a solid opinion about any of the recruits. Can't you give credit where credit is due? It really looks like Glenn is putting together a very impressive recruiting class.

Hopefully the class will pan out but you can't give credit for a class until they have had a chance to play.

Actually, yes you can. ESPN does that every year. Notre Dame had one of the top classes four years ago and it panned out. Also, Saban's classes grade out well and usually Sherman had pretty good classes at A&M, except he was awful and I never know why they hired him. You really can give give credit to a class before they have a chance to play.
