Not the first time Smith has gone up with the students, doubt it will be the last. So perhaps playing Denver or Western Ill and celebrating with the students after means those were our "super bowls" too. Give me a break.
Really like the way Peterson has been playing the last couple games, and Simpson as well. Hurst's defense can really help us and he does a lot of other things really well, but down the stretch, it's tough to have guys on the court that don't look to score. I think we're going to need another one or two of those guys late in games that want the ball other than Matt, and I think Peterson is one of those guys.
Leo's, Carey's or The Pressbox (RIP) likely would have elicited a post like that from me as well.

Haven't seen any confirmation about NLI for any player... I don't think the University can tweet about them like this until they have signed the NLI. I could be wrong though. Accurate.

I feel like Jay is fairly reliable, but yes, I want a picture of him and the team at mid-field of the Dome like Coach Smith did. Assuming this to be true, very relieved. Not just for Bob, but to retain his staff. Loved what those guys were doing. Hoping to see it continue.

Zach Schneider, sports director for station in Duluth tweeted "Heard from a source last night this is legit and Nielson is expected to take it". So we have that going for us.

Excited for the future like everyone else, but hate to see Streveler go. The play yesterday when he was hit from behind and thought he fumbled and chased the ball down 25 yards downfield is the only play you need to see this guy make and all you need to know about him. He was getting drilled basically every time he dropped back, especially in the first half, and still stood in there for every throw. Loved watching this guy play. Going to miss him.

D-line getting pushed around and tackling poor early. Perfect.

Mick Garry just tweeted out that Schultz had a non-contact injury in practice this week and isn't playing today. Really unfortunate he's not playing today, but hoping it's nothing serious.

Cold shooting doomed USD from the start. How many layups were missed? I think TBM missed 3 or 4 himself. Can’t miss the easy shots and miss FT down the stretch and expect to win. Side note: I’ve seen 5th grade basketball games reffed better then that one. It is so hard to watch a game that is so poorly officiated. There was no consistency what so ever. TBM is 6'6" and athletic. If you have a wide open look at the hoop, throw it down. He did once yesterday, but missed a number of very easy ones on Saturday. Very frustrating. Mooney looked a step slower too. Not the end of the world. Their guards played well, but agree, officiating was terrible. Absolute bailout call at the end. I would have been a lot more upset Saturday night if the football game had ended differently. Long season.

Good point yoda. Probably included students more strictly from an attendance perspective and home field advantage. But you're right, Should have little to no impact on the bid.

If you are taking on a 300+ lb offensive lineman coming down on you, bet your a$$ your going to take on that block with force, and by that I mean you are going to be the aggressor and explode your body into him. The head just happens to be a part of your body. I'm guessing our Jack friend here never played on the interior of the defensive line and never had a pulling guard coming down on him. You meet that block with violent force. You don't and you will never see the field. If this is what football is coming to, these kinds of calls, then I'm about out. For the record, the targeting call I think should have been called actually happened twice, two late hits when a USD runner was already on the ground. One of them for sure the helmet was the first thing to make contact. Intent of the rule is to protect defenseless players and malicious hits. Should not be applied to everyday line play. Again, has anybody ever seen a targeting play like that called? Only in the Valley. While I sort of agree that, by rule, this was targeting, this is the first time I've seen it in this type of play. I've seen it a number of times where any player (lineman, RB) is on the ground and they are hit first with a helmet of the opposing team. Whether diving at them or thrown to the ground by someone. I understand the targeting rules and their intent, but have no clue what a coach is supposed to say to a player in this situation. "You're about to get trucked and it's going to hurt, but it's best if you just take it so you don't get penalized and tossed."
As always, good summary OBC.

I'm not that surprised we aren't hosting to be honest. I would love to have the game in Vermillion, but it's so hard to bid on a game and expect a lot of people to show up on a holiday weekend, especially students (not that their turnout is great). Very likely that most teams lose money on the first week's games. Also guessing if we hosted, we may very well be in NDSU's part of the bracket the way it appears the committee regionalized teams.

Kicking game is a joke. Again. Instead of being a tie game on defense we’re down 3 and they come down and score. Sick of losing to them. Can’t stand 1 thing about them.

I get everyone is pissed but nothing CF has said thus far is untrue. I don't necessarily agree with some of his opinions on how to call a game and I could do without the "look at me I picked this loss" attitude, but he's right. This was a self-induced loss and nothing we, as coyote fans, haven't seen before. So we didn't go undefeated, big shocker. We have likely already earned a spot in the playoffs and there's still an opportunity in front of us to earn a top 8 seed. There's plenty of things to be concerned about and the road ahead definitely looks tougher after today, but the fate of this season is still in the coyotes hands. Again, don’t read his stuff, but if that’s the case, I just said the same thing in three sentences. Instead a novel was needed as usual.

Life’s a lot easier when you skip over his posts. No clue what he said. Couldn’t care less what he said.
Today was tough. Mistakes killed us. We absolutely gave that away. Defense played great.

Sounds like SDSU offered Trysten Ducker’s little bro down in omaha. Would hope we are recruiting him too. Dad and brother who are yotes. Only a sophomore. Still has a ways to go. Taller than Trysten and very talented. 180 lbs and going to get bigger. We'll recruit him, but no guarantee he won't end up with an FBS program.
