+3 - +3.5 is the line I've seen for the Portland game. Essentially a pick 'em on a neutral court. Would love to take this game and the Mt State game as well, but like everyone has said, road bball is tough no matter who you're playing.

Mooney played much better yesterday. TBM doesn't look like nearly the player he was the first couple games. Going to need him to step up going forward. Really like the way the offense looks with Simpson running the show. He looks great for a true freshman in my opinion. Under control. Makes good decisions with the ball. Ended up playing more minutes than Dickerson too, and pretty much the whole second half. Agree with the posts above. Should have put them away early. They had no offensive flow, but would make a couple threes and tough layups to get back in it.
Disappointing fan turnout again, but they have had two home games on a holiday weekend and two against lesser competition. Hoping to see a substantial increase in students and fans at the very least when conference play begins. Can definitely get loud in there.

Wonder if TBM or Dickerson noticed the game started?

4 fouls in the first 55 seconds. Going to be a fun game to watch.

I think a redshirt here may be likely.

wiley , I think Robinson = Armstrong. Correct? HAHA. Yes. My mistake. Kid has some talent. And he definitely wasn't afraid to shoot.

Observations: first twelve minutes were very sloppy. We could have gotten down pretty big but TBM kept us in it. He and Mooney were our best players hands down. Both looked relaxed. They were always around the ball. We made some ugly turnovers in the first half but really cleaned those up in the second. You can tell Dickerson is athletic, but he played pretty out of control and took some poor shots. Thought Simpson looked good. Peterson got in quite a few minutes as did Robinson. Liked the look of Peterson out there too. Wasn't out of control and has a nice shot. Robinson is athletic but got out of control sometimes too. Could be wrong but I don't think Hagedorn touched the court. Wonder what's going on there. Free throw shooting was ugly.
While it wasn't pretty, you could tell the team settled in nicely in the second half and made some nice shots. Mooney's two threes at the end were the decider. Definitely something to build on.

Um, sure. It's not like Marker Week had a 30 page thread about it by Monday on AGS and a much larger thread on our board as well. Keep telling yourself that though buddy. I agree with thumper unfortunately this time. USD football hasn't been a threat to SDSU for years. The Coyotes haven't proven as a program that they deserve to be SDSU's biggest rival. I think in all other sports that USD is their biggest rival but in football I do think NDSU is their biggest rival. So let me get this straight. You agree with this moron, yet you go on to say that USD needs to beat SDSU more than once or twice every ten years to be considered a rival? What exactly has SDSU done the last ten years against NDSU to be considered their rival? One thing they have done is put together beautifully written 30 page threads on message boards to make the rivalry what it is today. Bravo. Not sure we can compete with that. Message board threads are what make rivalries.

It is different because it is more personal to the school, teammates, and fans who believed in him and supported him when no other school gave him the opportunity. Honest question. Did those of you that feel betrayed by AVG feel the same way when Amy took the head coaching job at Nebraska? Obviously one is a coach and the other an athlete, but it is essentially the same thing. Both made upward moves to help their careers. I didn't hear anyone say they felt betrayed by her, or she let the players and fans down. Would have been a little upset if she didn't take the job. Not sure why everyone is so upset about AVG doing the same thing. Also not sure why him leaving makes people assume that he thought "USD wasn't good enough for him". I'll be honest, if he ended up at SDSU or NDSU, I would have felt betrayed. He's also a 20 year old kid. Time to let it go.

Let's not make this into something it isn't. The team last year simply wasn't very good. Point guard play was one big change from the beginning of the year to the end. Trey Norris should not be a starting PG for a division 1 team and should not be playing 36 mins a game. Not to say that Mccleland was that great, but Norris is an 8 minute per game role player. Smith was forced into that with the exit of Mccleland. Arguably our best player was DJ Davis and everyone (apparently) thought he was better suited for division 2. Outside of him and Flack, we were not an athletic group by any means. The biggest disappointment last year (to me) was the development of Jech and Hagedorn. I can't remember which game it was earlier in the year, but Hagedorn was more assertive and made some nice plays. He was a large part of the reason we won. We never saw that player again the rest of the year. Expecting bigger things from those two this year. I'm with Cousin Eddie. This team is much more talented than last years and I don't think it's close. Will be fun to see how well they come together. First game is just over 2 weeks away.

Medical redshirts can be granted if they play less than 30% of the games in a season. If that has been exhausted, once a player plays in any capacity in a game, they can no longer redshirt. Not sure what you're talking about, Jackl. Mods, any interest in banning this dude?

They won't fire Stig, and clearly Nagy is bullet proof as well if they're not going to can him after the seasons they had in the mid to late 2000's. So yes, I meant retire, but you're missing the whole point. Fact is, once they're gone, having a multi-year contract to offer good coaching candidates is much more lucrative than a 1 year deal. Sure it doesn't bother any of the current coaches. They've been around long enough to know they will have a contract waiting the following year as well. Will the new coach know that when he starts? Unlikely.
