I think the biggest hurdle is the non-Dakota schools and their concerns with this conference becoming very, very Dakota centric. We just lost Fort Wayne because they were an outlier, and I don't blame them for the move they made, they finally got into the conference they have long wanted. I wonder what WIU, ORU, UMKC, and especially Denver feel about Augustana. Interesting that Sanford is now trying to spread it's influence to all conference schools with a $250,000 scholarship endowment per conference school. It’s a necessary expense. Conferences have exit fees and entrance fees. A school joins a conference and they are entitled to a share of the money from the others. Most conferences ask for a payment or other concessions to ease the impact but it is normal operating procedure nation wide. Wise up and see things as they are. There is nothing sinister about the money and your casting of nefarious dispersions should be deleted. It’s not true. yes schools share the money from others but one booster giving out 250,000 isn’t the norm.

Somebody would have to leave before Augustana gets in. I don't see the conference wanting to go with an odd number due to scheduling. We now have travel partners so travel should be more consistent. Should be able to schedule consistently as well with men's games on Thursday/Saturday and women's games Friday/Sunday, or vice versa. Personally I prefer the double headers. I hate games on fridays cause your competing with the high schools on getting fans to the games.

Looks like he’s going to be teammates with Former WIU QB Sean McGuire.

WIU Associate coach Seth Minter is leaving for Missouri St serving 8yrs as an Associate is a long time at one place. Is he going to be the head coach? That would be a pretty good gig. no he’s going to be an assistant who’s in charge of recruiting but he’s from Missouri.

I remember JD had his name mentioned as a candidate for a coaching position lately, my memory isn't the greatest anymore, can't remember which Institution he was applying to (Texas Tech maybe, along with Stollings from Minny, Minn after Stollings left ?), but it must have been in the last year or two i'm thinking, it would have been a big step up . So, yeah, he might be looking for something better, but I think he likes it at Western Ill, it's just he'd like to make a little more than he does now.Every Institution should pay their coaches as much as they can afford, or watch them say bye,bye when someone flashes a bunch of money in their face, especially winning coaches who put a lot of effort into being a winning coach and want to be appreciated, yes, most are all appreciated, but financial security is a big magnet, but higher up the ladder you go, the more pressure you have to win, but you usually have greater resources to help you succeed too. Many things factor in to whether or not coaches stay content, or go out searching for something different, each individual is unique for determining their happiness. yeah he was one of the candidates for the Tech job but I also think he does really like WIU and he’s from the KC area so it’s not a super long drive.

You would think It would have to be competitive with the old salaries more back end loaded probably if they are moving from assistant to head coach. It may have already been mentioned but what are USD & SDSU paying? With the success that should be some kind of bench mark. According to this recent Argus Leader article: www.google.com/amp/s/amp.argusleader.com/amp/3300706002A.J. is making $235,000 per year on s 4-year contract, signed this season. Dawn is making $210,000 per year based on a 3-year contract signed last spring, but could see an extension this year. No idea on the rest of the conference. I assume they are lower. last I knew Gravina was making 132,500

We got coach Wright back next year so I don’t have much faith in us being in the middle tier.

Let’s hope staying in house works for them about as well as it did for us even though Billy was gone For a year it was pretty close to an in house hire.

Ok so I don’t have to root for the Jacks to keep winning. Color me shocked that a WIU fan is looking for additional revenue sources... Damn right

Is the women’s side structured the same for payouts. there are no payouts on the women's side other than covering expenses.. The women's side doesn't turn a profit. Ok so I don’t have to root for the Jacks to keep winning.

It's from Zimmer... so take that for what is worth... The UNLV and bunny fan replies are well worth reading... TJ has done a great job of winning with Nagy players but outside of Jenkins he hasn’t really brought any anyone who looks special.

I didn't realize that either. That's some good info and something to remember. I wonder if they do that for the men's NIT as well? On the men's side the only auto-bids are regular-season champs that don't win conference tourneys, and aren't also picked up with an at-large by the NCAA. Like the Yotes two years ago. On the women's side they extend it to the highest ranked remaining team (I assume that means by conference record rather than RPI?) Yeah the NCAA runs the men’s tournament while the women’s tournament is ran by a different organization.
