Thanks for your comment cityleaguesniper. I am sure the coaches and players will take your advice and apply it to the next game. I'm not sure what it is with people on this blog acting like just because we have a great team and coaching staff that they are immune to criticism. Cityleaguesniper's point is well taken. We've been sloppy against good three point shooting teams this year, and that's a product of both coaches and players (especially getting out of the zone against ORU). That doesn't mean that the coaches or players aren't amazing. It just means that this is a blog, and so we can still talk about what this (albeit great) team could work on.

Why are we falling so far in the RPI?

I think I've enjoyed the two pieces I've seen from him more than I ever enjoyed reading Mick's stuff. I've enjoyed his stuff too. Articles like this that dive deeper into aspects that most haven't been thinking about and are more than just the typical/generic pieces are ones that we haven't seen as much from the argus.

I'm hopeful but still, like Yotes mentioned above, I'm skeptical that we will receive two teams. Maybe if both teams win-out except for splitting against each other, then it could happen. But if someone sweeps the two games against the other, I don't think the losing team in that scenario gets in. Any others have better thought-out thoughts?

Duffy with some absolute dimes this game. Not sure I realized in previous years, but she is undoubtedly our best passer.

I think gopheryote is right. We are going to get the best punch from every team, especially the away games.

Better spacing at the end. We just ran every play through Duffy or Arens and we were much more successful than the rest of the game.

The problem is that all the shooters are wide open. Do people who know more than I do know if this is hot shoot or bad scouting?

Ya and actually neither has Lamb. Shooting a VERY low percentage from 3 this season. Would really love her to drive more.

Not our best performance. Duffy and Sjerven played solid. Lamb got a little shot-happy, but made some good ones late. I still wish we would see the court better on driving lanes. We had lots of open shooters on drives but didn't see them. We do drop it off to the post pretty well though. So maybe you can't have everything!

I would guess that it's just a precaution because we had a full week off.

I'm not saying Duffy is as good as Seekamp but to use "she could score 30" as your rationale for why Seekamp's better seems a little odd considering Duffy almost had 30 in the game they're talking about. Seekamp was obviously a better passer (best I've ever seen) and ballhandler whereas Duffy is a better deep shooter. Duffy's ability to do a little bit of everything offensively from deep, mid-range, post and off the bounce, plus pass and defend at a high level at multiple spots is really what makes her so valuable. She's just an incredibly versatile puzzle piece who also happens to be a great shooter. I think this is squarely what I would say too.

After reading this, I think we get two shots at the NCAA tournament. If we win out in the regular season (including beating SDSU at Frost) or if we win the Summit League Championship. I don't think we get in, even if we only lose two more games, both to SDSU at Frost and at SLT game.
