New thread. Our girls are dominating right now. 5 game win streak, 15-8, chance for 17 wins today, beating good opponents, and hitting the ball hot. Most of all pitching is unstoppable.

Just right off hand looking at the results: Western Illinois' stud leadoff hitter Sammy Marshall, the one who has gotten a ton of attention (and rightfully so), was a combined 1-11 in Vermillion. Impressive by the USD pitchers.

USD has 2 games vs. old Summit League foe UMKC today. In my mind 2 very easy win, but we will have to see. Good Luck Yotes!

USD loses game 2, 8-2. Disappointing loss, UMKC is not good.

For those of you who haven't been out to a USD softball game this year, go check them out. It had been 2 years since I had been to a game but I've gone the last 2 weekends. I've had a great time and so have my kids.I get to watch the game and they get to play in the dirt!

Going to the double header in Ames today. Hoping to leave with 2 HUGE wins. We need these wins, and hopefully we will get back on track. Looking at the roster, sounds like we are returning basically everyone, so we will more than likely be even better next year. Go Yotes! Good luck today ladies! See you there.

USD split vs. ISU. Game one should have been won, but ISU is very good at coming back. Game two was a complete blowout. USD looked good.

Too bad we couldn't borrow a couple runs from our blowout and get the sweep. Overall though, still another impressive series by the Yotes.

USD heads to Brookings. In my mind easy sweep, like last year. Hopefully it comes true! Go Yotes!

Games 1 and 2 we took 8-0 and 10-0 with freshman pitcher Rachel Cue throwing two complete game shutouts, allowing just four hits. I knew we were much, much better, but that is absurd. I'll be shocked if we don't get the sweep tomorrow.

We swept state for the second year in a row. This softball program is probably one of the most successful programs mens and womens at USD. These girls deserve a lot more credit.
