With all the injuries at DL, I think WP and their triple option will have some success. I think USD wins big but it may not be the cake walk that I think most expect. Really hurts not having Jacobs, Praska, and the highly touted transfer Ruiz playing.

Go to Goyotes.com and check out the new video the athletic department put together for students to let them know about the revamped tailgating area, new bleachers with improved access, and more importantly, the new system of swiping your student ID after the game to get the full number of Coyote points. It is really well done! Hopefully that translates in to more students in the stands.

Really hurts not having Jacobs, Praska, and the highly touted transfer Ruiz playing. We have an idea of what's happening with Jacobs (illness) and Praska (chronic back issues). Still no word on Ruiz? We need to get healthy/eligible/whatever there in a hurry or it will be a long, painful season in the MVFC.

According to someone pretty close to the program. Ruiz has not lived up to the hype since he arrived in Vermillion. Showed up very out of shape during the summer, supposedly took him over a month before he was in shape enough to finish an entire workout. Throwing up daily. Also a minor back problem has been a lingering issue. The feeling around the program is he will not have much of an impact.
I hate to be the one to say it, but we may have missed the target with this kid.

It's officially gameday! What kind of performance do the Yotes need in order for this game to be considered a success? I want to see zero turnovers (especially no interceptions from Saeger), limit their triple option to less than 3 YPC, and score at least 50 points.

Zero turnovers - no false starts - shut them out - score 50. Our DL needs to get healthy fast - after this game being that young, small, and inexperienced up front on defense will make it very hard to stop the physical running attacks coming our way. Need Jacobs and Praska. Hopefully Ruiz can get himself together as well. Losing Kenny Greer to transfer is hurting right now.

I know he's not on the team anymore but I still see him around town. He made an appearance at the OLC last week during the Oregon game. If he transferred you'd think he'd be busy on Saturdays.

Transferred to Minnesota State Mankato if I remember correctly before Spring semester last year. I looked at the MSU roster and do not see him listed though. ****** edit Must have been Winona State - he is listed as a transfer (see link). I do not see him on their roster though Kenny Greer Winona State

Solid game from Saeger 4. Solid special teams. Wouldn't a return TD be nice one of these days? 5. Clearer definition as to our starting secondary

Also if you didn't already know Ribs Rods & Rock and Roll is going on in downtown Vermillion. Worth stopping by before or after the game.

This should not really be much of a contest but I'm in agreement with pretty much everything that has been said.
Please no injuries.
Let's move forward in a confident way and really start the season off well by taking down The Griz on their home prairie next week and then follow that up by banging up NAU in revenge for last year. Not a fun time in The Danger Dome for the other Jacks. You know Coach JG wants both of those games bad.
Here we go Coyotes 52 WP 3.

Nothing to really brag about for the Yotes at the half. The score should be about 28 to 3 for The Big Red and I would be right on the money for my prediction.
Let's tidy things up Coyotes!
