I really feel for Joe Glenn. Like yoteforever stated, Glenn has won three NC's. UNC really had there stuff together under Glenn. If you have the resources and staff, these good things will happen. As a SDSU fan, a feel bad for USD and particularily Coach Glen. We are on cloud nine after yesterday, but come 2016, having a good seat in a new stadium is going to cost me $750 bucks beside all that I am giving now. I am giving about 3 grand a year. I don't look forward to it, but that's price for being a loyal fan. I think your fan base had better get on the stick and stop blaming the coach and open up those tight fitting pockets.

Folks, right now it is up to the players! Many, not all, of the players have lost the passion and will to win. The coaches can do all the prep possible but if the players don't execute and stay disciplined you lose! Team captains need to step up with an all-player team meeting and lay it on the line. Time to call out each other out, regain the passion and get back to playing like they and I know that they can.
What the coaches can do is weed out the players that are just there to be part of the team. If they are not trying to beat out the guy ahead of him then spend the scholarship on someone who will! No player should feel "safe"! Coaches may need to make a statement by benching the players that are not giving it 100% week in and week out.
Players and coaches said that this was the best week of practice that they have had? How does a game go so poorly after the "best week of practice"? I think only the players can answer that, deep down inside they know this one was on them!
Once again, if we execute and make the easy plays this would have been a much different game. Coaches, fans and players are sick of hearing this. It really is up the players to dig down and find that drive, passion and commitment that drove them to want to play D1 football. If that happens, they will turn this ship around and finish the season out with pride. If not, then even the coaches that deserve to stay will pay the price for everyone.

It is rough watching that post-game interview with Joe Glenn. I think we all knew he would be taking this harder than anyone else out there, but to see him talking to Mick in the tunnel about the team really makes you feel for the guy. I would absolutely hate to see Glenn retire after the season and have this be how his career ends, he deserves so much better. He is absolutely right that our guys are far more talented than they are showing, and it is killing him that he can't get the guys to make the plays we need to win games.
I really have to wonder what Yoteforever is alluding to that is a virus in the program, one that may quickly turn things the right way but for some reason can't be eradicated by Joe himself. It's quickly looking like the season is going to get away from the coaching staff, another MVFC goose egg is somehow starting to look likely. I can't for the life of me understand how this team isn't putting a more competitive product on the field.

Wes needs to go. He is a big problem, both on and off the field.

Is it just me or has the playcalling been way too conservative lately? I miss the days of Dante Warren down the field to Will Powell. We rely too much on our running game and it haunted us against UNI. A big play for this offense is a 15 yard run. We have the weapons. Time to step-up and play to win instead of play to not get blown out

I didn't want to post on this thread because writing (perhaps not thinking) about firing a head coach in the middle of a season seems ridiculous to me. Getting rid of a head coach and/or coaches is a moot issue right now - and I prefer to live in the here and now.
Looking at what can be done now, one can look at what it takes to win. A main ingredient is leadership. Leaders to me are those that exhibit passion. I don't care if you are a farmer who loves to farm or a wood carver who loves carving wood. If you passionate about something, you will be a leader in that endeavor sooner than later. The same goes for football. I like the previous poster who puts it on the players themselves. If the players don't have a "come to Jesus" meeting this week that tells me something. No passion = no leadership = no wins.
Joe Strikes me as a person who has tons of passion about Coyote football. If I could I would simply say: take some risks. Success is often based on risk-taking. Obviously, if one continues to do the same things as in the past to prepare for upcoming games, then the results will likely be the same. Do something different.
Thanks for the opportunity to vent, but I hope in a positive way.

Honest assessment, I don't see us winning a game in the Valley this year. Not now, not after what I've seen so far. WIU is our best shot and I think we'll do something stupid to screw that up. Never thought I would say this when the season started. I thought we had a real shot against UNI but screwed ourselves with poor, poor special teams plays and way too many penalties on offense. Unless something changes and this team quits hurting itself and gets mentally tougher I don't see this ending very pretty. Now, all that being said, of the 4 Dakota schools I think we come in 3rd and are way ahead of UND. Our record this season will not be a reflection of the quality of this team, it will be what it is because of how difficult the Valley is. Nothing about the Big Sky has impressed me so far this season. I originally wanted USD in that conference. I think we would have been more successful there. Not as good, but more wins. This is true, coyotes beating Minnesota trumps both sdsu & und

Im sick of this thread and the finger pointing at Coach Glenn. I am with coyote70 and a few previous posters that put blame elsewhere. If you, as a player, dont want to run through a brick wall for this coach, then take your damn jersey off and go play elsewhere.

Transitioning to D1, especially when you join the MVFC, is not easy. The Bison went D1 in 2004 and joined the MVFC in 2008. In 2008, they went 4-4 in the conference and in 2009 (their 6th year of D1), they won 2 games in the MVFC and finished 3-8 overall. They lost their last 5 games in a row in MVFC play in 2009, and 7 of their last 8, with their lone win coming against Wagner.

Wait...the Bizon have had a losing season? I thought they were undefeated the last 100 years. 2008 and 2009 were dark years. For those who don't know, Coach Bohl was really on the hot seat at the time for the poor performance, and some huge off the field stuff. (not sure what was worse, best buy theft scheme or the guy pedaling pot......probably have to go with Best buy) Somehow with that horrible situation, a fire must have been lit under Bohl, as he brought in a couple legendary classes of recruits in 2009 and 2010. Getting really, really lucky on Brock Jensen did not hurt, either. (He was not even their top choice to offer that year!) Many of those players began playing in 2010, and once they had experience and they found Jensen, NDSU started a journey never before seen in FCS football. They are one horrible call from likely going for title #5 this year. (Fully admit they would have had two more tough games to win, but the next game would have been in Fargo as it was a bid.)
