Gunn is another great commit! Strong, powerful yet fast and elusive RB but also a powerful, sure tackler on D. Will be interesting to see where he plays.

I'm not doubting what anyone says on here when talking about prospective athletes coming to USD, my question to those posting and commenting about the quality of athlete they are, how are you so knowledgable? Is it sites like Rivals.com or hurdl.com that gives you your perspective? Or do you have other sources? I'm glad you bring this perspective to our fan board, I'm just curious. Keep it rolling, I enjoy hearing optimistic things. Thanks

Very fair question, yoteforever. My perspective on most prospects is 3 fold: 1) who else has offered? 2) have the recruiting sites noticed him, watched him at a camp or rated him? 3) do his measurables and/or film from hudl jump out at me? At the end of the day, I don't know squat (seriously, nothing) and I just put full faith into the talent evaluation skills of Glenn and Co. However, when I see characteristics like a 290 lb DL, a 6'6" OT, a 4.5 forty for an RB or a 6'2" skill position guy, then those things are kind of fun to let your imagination run wild with. Internet recruiting for fans is all about intrigue, but once they are signed, my expectations for a player go out the window until a coach comments on them of I see them do something meaningful on the field. I still think stats and performance on the field matters, but they need to be tempered by the level of competition that the kid is playing against. #1 over everything for me is, who else has offered. -I am a Cubs fan. I am always optimistic about next year

I like Gunn and Saintil a lot! I like guns run and cut abilities plus his power/speed. Saintil looks like an athlete, can jump out of the gym so to speak.
I have wanted to be a football recruiter since I was a kid, plus played FB myself. Just a hobby I love, Signing day is like a holiday to me!
I usually look at size, speed, and where a recruit played(what level/state) plus what accolades they've recieved. My specialty would be more skill position kids than line, but i believe the line play decides how good your team will be once you get out of D1FBS level.
