I heard that Middleton was out with him doing in-home visits last night in the region Middleton is out recruiting with Nielson. Middleton is of course on the payroll for a few more months, but I don't think Nielson would take him on the road unless he intended on hiring Middleton onto the staff.

I know you will be getting Yelk and Schelfke, and Prevost for sure. No to Blazek.

Hitting Omaha sounds like such a good recruiting strategy at the FCS level, kinda like the SF area is for D2. I get the impression NDSU recruits MPLS the best, with a few going to SDSU. Hasnt USD got some guys from KC in the past?

tman28- you are correct. NDSU and the Sioux hit the Twin Cities really hard. I'm seeing SDSU becoming a bigger presence too. The Yotes can do a better job in this area.

Your just going to have to trust me. After further review I would expect all but Blazek making the move to USD. You couldn't have gotten a better group of coaches.

Are we gonna have an announcement today from the Yote football office about the staff Neilson is bringing on board?

You would think that we would hear something soon. It looks as if Middleton will be kept on staff, as he has been escorting Coach N. around the area on home and school visits the last couple of days. You would think that some of the assistants from WIU would announce soon that they are coming if that is indeed the case. Since it looks highly unlikely that any of them will stay at WIU, you would think that they would want to find employment rather quickly and get started on recruiting for their new school. I guess the coming dead period lessens that urgency a little bit though.

Dead Period is any but that for a new coaching staff. They will have put together a larger than normal list of their targets to bring to campus, I can't imagine how much film they will be watching over that time period.

Coaches better get their popcorn ready!! Hopefully we can flip some of the top commits from WIU and get some good regional talent to round out this class.
