I remember ranting and raving against early kickoff times in the past, can't remember why but I am sure it had something to do with youth sports clogging up the morning schedule. I'm beyond those years now so don't see how 1pm start times are an issue for me anymore. I'm sure I'll think of something though. Less tailgating time comes to mind. I notice we start off with 3 straight 2pm kickoffs for our home games but the last two home games switch to 1pm. I wonder why it doesn't remain consistent throughout the season? A couple Google searches and I see briar Cliff is using the Dome the evening of Nov 7 and I'm going to go out on a limb and guess the SDHSAA finals will be on Nov 14. Probably the reason for the 1pm kickoffs.

That's one I would really like to go to. Glad to see it's a later kickoff so I have all day to get down there and then see what gameday is like in the Little Apple.

The Fighting Bo Pelinis will certainly bring some muscle for the D-Days showdown. YSU has added former Auburn DE Elijah Daniel and former Nebraska DE Avery Moss. These guys ain't your garden variety transfers. Both were impact players projected to be major contributors before some pretty serious lapses in judgement got them booted from campus. They join all-conference defensive ends Derek Rivers and Terrell Williams. Assuming all parties remain eligible, YSU is going to be scary good on the defensive front. I haven't really kept track of who else Pelini is bringing in. www.al.com/auburnfootball/index.ssf/2015/07/former_auburn_defensive_end_el.htmlwww.ysusports.com/sports/fball/2015-16/bios/moss_avery_da0j

If those guys can keep their noses clean they should be huge impact players in the MVFC.

Can he get those guys to play to their potential? Thats always the question.....

Pelini, although pretty unlikable, got canned from a school with unrealistic expectations. The old 90s Nebraska teams aren't coming back anytime soon. I think coaches will be letting him know when transfers become available. It's definitely going to make a better conference.

The expectations at Nebraska were as high as they get, but Pelini absolutely could not win a big game and usually got flat out embarrassed rather than lose by a TD. He'll roll the conference in the regular season then flop in the first playoff game.

I think coaches will be letting him know when transfers become available. It's definitely going to make a better conference. If you think that Pelini was fired because they didn't win a National Championship (the 90's coming back), then you are sorely mistaken. It really drives me nuts to hear that statement because it is completely misconstruing the situation. Also, statements like "...a school with unrealistic expectations. The old 90s Nebraska teams aren't coming back anytime soon..." are total loser mentality statements. Pelini was fired because he wasn't competing (I didn't say winning) for CONFERENCE championships, was a disorganized CEO, an incredibly lazy recruiter, refused to conform to the public expectations of a coach paid in the top 15 salaries, let his assistants run a muck, hired completely under qualified assistants (if you need proof, look where most ended up) and was generally an abusive, maniacal, mouth breathing neanderthal. All you need to do is watch the way in which Mike Reilly carries himself, recruits and generally manages the program now to see the difference. The improved level of professionalism is exponential. Lastly, the misconception in you statement that is the most troubling is the media driven belief that you can no longer win in Nebraska. WTF? Why? They have as nice, if not nicer facilities to anybody in the country, their budget is huge and is about to go through the roof with a full share of the B1G money and the increase from the renegotiation of the BTN contract, they have top ten tradition (top 5 most wins ever), they are "cold weather" without actually being cold weather (See: Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State). Explain to me why Wisconsin or MSU can win conference championships, but Nebraska can't? Also, don't you find this to be talking out of two sides of your mouth as an SDSU fan and a member of the MVFC, where a team from Fargo, ND has won [FOUR] championships in a row? With the ease of recruiting in the south, why is the (almost) Northernmost team in the country dominating? Why is the gap with NDSU and SDSU supposedly closing?

Cuz, you need to get your facts straight...NDSU has won four consecutive titles.

Cuz-- UNL undergrad, right? But, I agree with what you've written. I just hope that mouth-breathing Neaderthal doesn't return Youngstown to its glory days. Then again, I suppose improving a program is best for the conference overall.

Pelini won I think 8 games per year, but never beat a good opponent and often was embarrassed by the better B1G teams he played. Reminds me of Mike Singletary, good DC or position coach at a larger school, but cannot be organized enough and "political" enough to gain trust in the players and university. He will do more than fine at a smaller school like YSU and will get recruits just by his name alone, which we are already seeing with some transfers.
