Coyotes kick a 45 yard field goal and cut the deficit to 30-23. They are hanging by a thread but hanging none the less.

1:55 to go and the Yotes have one more shot but 90 yards to go.

Well the Yotes fall short to the Jacks again but what is new. The Jacks own the Yotes. How could this team possibly have not beaten them at home since 1997. That is inconceivable and unacceptable. Saeger did not have a good day but Frederick was a definate bright spot. The defense was very average today and is a generally over rated by USD people. They are average but that is as far as it goes. Looks like a 3-5 Valley season is what the final result will end up being. That will be enough for a parade in downtown Vermillion after the season.
This weekend for USD sports has been about failing in the second half for every team so far.

That has been happening for years. I have had enough of that so I will allow everyone else to have that priviledge. Everyone else can have the honor of walking through the turnstiles after another loss. How many straight home losses is that against the Jacks now? ridiculous.

That was one of those games that an objective person -- one who likes football but didn't favor either team -- would have walked away saying that was a heckuva game and both teams had their chances to win. Congrats to the Coyotes -- they're a very good football team with a good trendline. This year the Coyotes played an important part in making the Missouri Valley Football Conference the best FCS conference in the country, a conference that is better than several FBS conferences.

Wholeheartedly agree!! USD was only a few key plays away. Solid effort on the part of the Yotes against a very good SDSU team.

People forget that not only are they our rivals, but they are #5 in FCS right now. All things considered, we took the #5 team (who had just beat the previous #2 team) to the final play of the game. Helluva football game today

I really think if Saeger could hit his mark we would be a playoff team. So many blown passes to guys who were open. Not satisfied with the final here but we're making progress I guess. A win against Illinois State would be a welcome end to the season.

Joe said after the game that Ryan hurt his ankle pretty bad in the 2nd quarter and there were talks about putting Woodward in but he toughed it out

I noticed on TV that Saeger was limping around quite a bit in the second quarter and he looked fairly one-dimensional after that. Even though he put up some numbers I wondered as the game wore one if he could stick it out.
Notwithstanding, no griping here. Woulda, coulda, shoulda doesn't work on this board or for Coyote fans in general. We'll even up the series in due time.

Woodward should have went in. Ryan gutted it out but couldn't move or drive his passes. Had to take several sacks. And we've got to quit throwing pick 6s in the 4th Q against the Jacks. I usually am very easy to get along with but really single coverage most of the game on Weinike so he gets 6 for 180??? Overall it was a very good game against a tough team but coaches need to step up and make some tough decisions at times and at least give the back up QB a try, play double coverage, etc.
Don't want to be a downer because the season is much improved and hopefully the Yotes can beat Illinois State next weekend!! Besides me I'm sure the team, coaches and other fans are as frustrated right now as I am. GO YOTES!!!

I was in the car riding during the 3rd quarter thinking the Jacks win streak over USD was to end, and got home in time to tune the teley, and saw the 4th quarter. A big turn around for SDSU, but until the last play the game was not over. Good Game USD Coyotes. Beat the other red and white this coming Saturday.

The coverage on weineke was unreal. I'm baffled by our ineptitude there. Absolute disaster.
