Illinois State (2 seed) is hosting Richmond (7 seed) in the quarterfinals tonight. The Spiders have come to play and have a 10-0 lead in the 1st quarter. They have put together 2 long drives already. They have one of the best nicknames in the NCAA.
The Panthers and Bison play an early one tomorrow morning at 11AM Central.

The Web Crawlers are not letting up with a 19-7 halftime lead. I know up north a couple of State Universities there is a rather large fraction of rabid fans the are hoping Richmond continues to hold up. Whether Richmond wins or loses could determine if this particular State University makes it 5 straight national titles. I don't see the Bison losing at home or at Fargo Dome South regardless of whoever comes out of the weak bracket.

Illinois State is out. NDSU has just gone up 21-10 on UNI with 6:00 to go in the game. Gonna be tough now for the Panthers. Richmond looked good in their road win but now the national title once again goes through NDSU.

Bison win 23-13 sealing the win with a late safety. They will host Richmond, possibly on Friday the announcers suggested. Jacksonville State and Sam Houston State are going to play in the other semi. That could be a hell of a game with some points being put up.
So what is the pulse of Coyote Nation. Do we want the Bison to take another title home to the Valley or is it time for someone else to end their reign?

The Bizon's dismantling of Richmond 33-7 in the semis makes the Coyote's victory in Fargo all that more impressive!!

Jacksonville State is leading Sam Houston State 31-0 in the 2nd quarter. JSU has some big dudes on their team. They are ran-sacking a very good and traditionally playoff tested Sam Houston State team. Maybe they will end up being NDSU's biggest test to date afterall considering it will be on a neutral field (sort of). It will still be Fargo Dome South but Jax State seems to be a more than worthy opponent to try to keep that ring off the Bison's thumb.

This is going to be a good title game assuming Jacksonville State moves on, they do have the top seed in the FCS after all. If I'm pulling for NDSU at all it's just so that we can have a win over the national champion.

Bison are whipping JSU right now. I suppose we all expected this though.

I really thought Jacksonville State would have a good chance to win today but NDSU elevates their level of play the more important a game gets. The Bison may have lost to Montana and South Dakota but they just have a way of coming out on top at the end of the season regardless of the circumstances. I have serious jealousy of their program.

The other side of the bracket was weak. UNI, SDSU, or ISUr all would have made it through to the championship. Playoff committee put the screws to the MVFC to ensure two different conferences were represented in the championship.

The Coyotes win over the Bizon in Fargo is even more impressive now as NDSU demolished Jacksonville State in the championship. Jacksonville State had won 12 in a row after losing to Auburn 27-20 in week two so they were no slouch team but definitely agree that future brackets need to be done by seeding and when the MV has two teams in the championship so be it!!
