Future Yote playing on TV right now (SDPBS) or streaming live (Here: www.sdpb.org/football/2017-2018/ ) -- #10 QB/LB of the Gregory Gorillas, Andy McCance -- PWO. First time getting to watch McCance and wow, I'm impressed. As the 4th quarter is starting he's at 7 combined TD's with nearly 500 total yards. He would obviously be a great pickup for USD, especially as a PWO. McCance has a similar play style to Streveler and has great touch on his passes. I'm kind of surprised he didn't have any scholarship offers at the D1 level. |

I’m guessing this means he plans to take the PWO offer. What does he project to play in college? WR? At a shade below 5'9" I think QB would not be his natural fit. He is a good FB player and like Lincoln Gibbs was very productive in 9 man FB. It would be nice to get some SD kids that can come and have success. Gibbs was a really good addition and I expect he will contribute on Special Teams at a minimum next season. |

Can’t imagine they intend for him to be a QB. Would think a RS and scout team while they figure it out?

I sincerely hope they are concentrating their recruiting and development efforts on bigger and athletic LBs' and more DBs'. The game against NDSU revealed these positions as a area that needs help.

IIRC we have been hit pretty hard with injuries at the LB position and the DBs are thin for other reasons. Pushing a lot of younger inexperienced players into action that haven't matured yet. I['m sure the staff will address the weaknesses in the off season. These guys know how to recruit.

According to article in Mitchell paper, he chose SDSU over USD. Hope we don’t lose McCance in a package deal.
