Has to be talking about Turner, I would think. These look like some really talented players!

247sports.com/Season/2018-Football/CompositeTeamRankingsNot sure if this is the right place for this, and sorry if already covered, but here is the composite team rankings from 247sports. It looks at recruits ranked by scout, rivals, espn and 247, and averages their ranking/scores. It's not a perfect source for FCS ranking, because it only considers recruits that possess a ranking or score with the major recruiting services. Still, it is a good look at some of the top recruits in FCS classes. Here are the MVFC (+UND) team's current ranks: 126. NDSU (18 recruits with scores) 139. SIU (6) 151. UND (5) 157. Ill St (5) 170. USD (4)180. YSU (2) 186. MSU (1) 189. UNI (2) 201. WIU (1) 212. SDSU (1) 250. Ind St (1) Our four recruits that are ranked: Bryce Kennedy (2*) Marquis Majors (2*) Brock Mogensen (2*) Trevor Shohoney (1*)

Is this only based on guys signed during the early period? Believe the RB Canaan Brooks from Missouri was a 3*.

Is this only based on guys signed during the early period? Believe the RB Canaan Brooks from Missouri was a 3*. No, both signed and verbal commits. Here's the 247 page for SD: southdakota.247sports.com/Season/2018-Football/CommitsIt also shows Tyler Foote and Jakari Starling, but has no rating for them. Canaan Brooks is still undecided with 7 offers, according to both Rivals and 247. He is a 2* on Rivals, 2* on 247, but has a composite of 3*, so ESPN must have him a 3*. His twitter still shows his commit to us, though. I think it just didn't get noticed, or updated yet? Weird. 247sports.com/Player/Canaan-Brooks-46042320

247 is not a good way of judging a signing class in FCS. Many of the FCS guys don't get kept up on very much. Brooks is still committed, 247 just hasnt updated. It also has USD still as part of the Great West if that says anything.

I know Herosports.com does a ranking after all the classes are signed next week, but I wish there was a better resource leading up to it. Same reason Phil Steele stopped doing an FCS magazine. Not enough eyeballs.

Yeah...I don't think anyone publishes worthwhile* recruiting rankings for FCS.
*Are the FBS rankings even good?

Yeah...I don't think anyone publishes worthwhile* recruiting rankings for FCS. *Are the FBS rankings even good? The rankings are somewhat interesting, but don't necessarily equal success. Look at Wisconsin. They are known for identifying diamonds in the rough and developing 2 star or less into NFL quality football players.

Iowa can't recruit the big names... or their decent players get poached by other teams, so they resort to taking our best options.
