I have to admit, I was watching the Men laying down the new order for the Summit League on the big screen and catching glimpses of the Womens game on my ipad. But everytime I looked the Refs were getting camera time and the Jacks were flopping.
But I'm sure if I were to watch the entire game, I'd see a signature Aaron Johnston defense clinic and some hot shooting by the Jacks.
Tip your hat, and go get them in March!

Wow what a foul fest, every single play. Thompson is a master flopper Between Thompson getting by with multiple flops and Ober getting by with multiple forearms to the back of Kate's head, it was a frustrating game to watch. Not going to get any help from the officials in Frost, especially on Sheep Saturday. Sheep Saturday

Watched the men's game whole 2nd half. 1st half of women's game was frustrating to watch...couldn't get anything to drop again today, every foul was on the Yotes... guessing from the score the 2nd half was the same...? When I switched over from mens game, USD had 6 fouls to 0 for the bunnies in the 4th. How is that even possible? The foul count in the first half was yotes- 11 Jacks- 12. You were close tho....

Wow, a lot of whining about the officials in this board. Although to be fair, seems to be what you all do every time you lose....
Just a little comparison between this game and the one in Vermillion:
In Vermillion: USD +20 free throw attempts USD 15 fouls, SDSU 24 (+9 USD)
In Brookings: SDSU +12 free throw attempts USD 26 fouls, SDSU 18 (+8 SDSU)
But I'm sure you all felt that game was officiated evenly.... Blaming the officiating for losses is just weak.

The Jacks were the more aggressive team and deserved many of the calls so I have no problem with it personally. Since agriculture and livestock are a big part of the SDSU tradition then I welcome you to the slaughter that the SDSU men are about to take next Saturday in Vermillion. There will be plenty of rabbit meat to serve after the game.

How many sheep did you buy today? Or do you just rent them for 30 minutes at a time?

Yes, a USD grad is moving to Brookings to serve fries. I'm not going to pretend every single USD grad is destined for success, but all of them are headed for something greater than Brookings has to offer.

Hey now, it could have been an engineering student from SDSU that designed the fryer you use everyday when making the rest of us fries! Or the nurse who assisted you with your wound when you stepped on a nail in your trailer house. You just don't know....

Easy steel. I know lots of State grads that live in trailer homes (on their farm or ranch they"ll inherit from their folks). They like to refer to them as manufactured homes. I also know a lot of those nurses you mentioned too. Most work for doctors who graduated from USD and are overseen by MBAs and JDs with USD degrees as well. As you said, you just don't know... Ugly game by Lady Yotes. 0 for 6 from three when I quit watching. Could have easily addressed with a pass down low to Fogg, Kate, or B. Arens (with the way the bunnies were collapsing so quickly) and kick out to open shooters. Saw more than a few bad TO's in first half too, but plenty of time to right the ship. It's all about who gets hot at the Tourney. As we saw last year, the best team isn't always the one who wins.

I was switching back and forth between the games. Frankly had I seen the poll before it expired I would have picked State to win the game. I think having Ober back changes that team immensely on D, and when we held serve at home they were still figuring things out post-Miller injury. While I don't have a lot of sympathy for their injuries considering ours, we never started the season with Duffy or Trimboli so there was no mid-year adjustment. Either way I expected to lose this one and don't think it is a big deal.
Hopefully our ladies can get the #2 seed in the tournament. With their lack of depth, I doubt they can win it if they have to play 3 games in 3 days. Plus I want to hang out on Saturday rather than Sunday.

Why is it that the Coyotes lack of depth seems to be such a big issue but the Jacks lack of depth doesn't seem to be a big deal. The Jacks will have just as much of a problem getting through the Summit Tourney as the Coyotes will. The Coyotes have been giving more time to Bonar and Frederick lately. The Coyotes play their top 6 a lot but they are developing some players to play more to help out more in that area. The Midco announcers kept mentioning the Coyotes like they were wearing down or couldn't handle the Jacks, but they didn't really mention the Jacks having the same problem. Typical SDSU bias which is not surprising.
The Coyotes played 9 players and the bench played 58 minutes and contributed 18 points The Jacks played 8 players and the bench played 48 minutes and contributed 8 points
Obviously Miller being out hurts the Jacks but the Coyotes are without Duffy and Trimboli and lost so much more during the off season. I think people need to check the facts a little more often.
If you look at the rosters the Jacks don't have much for contributions from their freshman or sophopmores right now. The Coyotes are looking like the team that is going to be in better shape when looking a couple of years down the line. Just last year the Jacks were that team but suddenly the future outlook looks pretty good for the Yotes, and who know how long Aaron Johnston sticks around.
