THE University of South Dakota became the FIRST team from South Dakota to beat an FBS opponent by defeating Minnesota in 2010. And the Coyotes became the FIRST team from South Dakota to beat TWO FBS opponents after their victory over Bowling Green on Saturday!!! GO YOTES!!!! As much as I like red and despise blue when it comes to South Dakota sports I cannot ignore the truth. That is very true but no Coyote fan with a straight face would not trade places with the accomplishments of the Jackrabbit program to their own accomplishments over the past decade in D1 football. The Coyotes have good games, the Jacks have good seasons. Let's have a good season just once and then we can start to talk just a little bit.

The season is a marathon, not a sprint.

I agree, it is a long season. This is a great start, but the hardest part of the schedule is still to come.

My statement was a fun fact! Obviously all the clichés still apply--long season, take one game at a time, next game up, etc. Coach and staff will be constantly be reminding the team of these facts--not a doubt in my mind! GO YOTES!!!

So If the team wins...which i very much think they will...it'll make everybody's night, they'll show up in force for the home opener in Vermilion against North Dakota and cheer their team on??? The team needs their fans as much as the fans need the team to win!!! Band wagon jumpers welcome!!! The more the merrier!!! Go Yotes!!! I sure hope so! What more could a fan on the fence ask for? I'd hate for it to take that 2017 national championship you guaranteed me in Des Moines for the fans to start packing the Dome on a regular basis. How far we have come! Go COYOTES!!!
