If anybody wants their head to explode, go and read through the game thread on the UND boards. Lot of cocky sh** going on over there.

One main issue with ticket sales might be the Garth Brooks concert in SF Saturday. I've reached out to a few people about coming and they have Garth tickets. Not an excuse, just a fact.

If anybody wants their head to explode, go and read through the game thread on the UND boards. Lot of cocky sh** going on over there. Seriously? No more than you would find here or on AGS. There will always be a few cocky people everywhere (except for Bisonville where that sh** comes in bulk). I think most people expect a really good, really tight game. Of course most UND fans have UND winning in a close game. There is definitely some confidence in our team and program. Nothing wrong with that. This will be a strength vs strength kind of game. USD has been on fire on offense, and Streveler is the man. Then again, we just blanked a Misery St team that put up a bunch of points against an SEC (albeit poor SEC) defense. Like last year, Steveler will get his yards, he is just that good. But I think this game will come down to turnovers (which we have been on the right side of over the last year), and time of possession (also a strength with our run game). We are legitimately 3 deep with RBs this year (go watch the James Johanesson U of M transfer's TD from last week), and our passing game has drastically improved. By no means should either team expect this to be a blowout. UND is absolutely not Drake, and USD is absolutely not Misery St. Should be a ton of fun though. Wish I could make the trip down this year, but will be watching on ESPN3. I'm calling a UND win, but I see big things this year for USD. Please for the love of God take out SDSU and NDSU this season, it would be nice to see some new blood at the top of the conference. I was actually at the game two years ago where you guys won in the Fargo Dome, and it was kind of funny to watch how upset some of those fans were.

This goes back to when I was in school in the 70s, but I never really could stand UND even then. Always got along with the NDSU for some reason though so to this day the Bison never really bother me and I'd always root for them over the Fighting Politically Corrects.

If anybody wants their head to explode, go and read through the game thread on the UND boards. Lot of cocky sh** going on over there. All the reason for USD fans to get to the game. I've seen it too many times before where a higher ranked team already had the following and bought the away tickets and made that away field like a home game! ...and besides, it's a great entertainment value for the buck!

This game will be more fun to watch than the State game this week. A win here and you'll jump up to the top ten or at least very close. This is also playoff team with a win on Saturday. That's probably for each team as long as neither team falls apart during conference play.

Hopefully, we will see a lot of social media pushing ticket sales. This needs to be a sellout. Conversely, we could take the Dykehouse approach and buy all the remaining tickets to limit those available to opposing fans. I'm certainly not opposed to that.

Hey Wilee! like this Avatar better??? This is Wesley B on one of his 6 TDS in a 42-30 win in 2005. Looking forward to seeing the Yotes get some revenge this weekend!

I got roped into going to one of those concerts but I admittedly hate country music so what is one to do. This is a very legit reason why a few fans probably won't go that would have come otherwise. I have no idea why this state is so gung ho about country music and so behind the times by about 20 years. This would have been cool in the early 90's more so then current times but Brooks is a legend and many non country fans will probably go including a few Coyote fans but I can guarantee that their will be about 10 times more Jacks fans at these shows. I will like a few songs but I will be puking next to my chair most of the time. HA-Ha-Ha

SD is 20 years behind in pretty much everything. Usually gets worse the farther north you go.

I went to Grand Forks last year and had a blast. All the UND fans I met were great. Longest drive home ever though.
I'll be surprised if we lose. We absolutely dominated the game last year, then gifted OT and had nothing left in the tank. My favorite part of our BG win was that we put together clock eating drives in the 4th, rather than coming to a halt and mustering only 3-and-outs. That was our achilles last year. We should get out to a lead early, and if we truly have learned how to stay on the gas, then UND can't win.
Streveler is much better picking his passes now. UND isn't getting half their points off his bad decisions like they did in regulation last year. It will be interesting to see how teams handle him now that they've played this offense before.

Let me walk that back a little. I would not be surprised if we lose, the only surprising losses this year would be InST or SIU. This is a game we should win and not have to sweat through at the end. I expect a 10-14 point victory.

Prediction time
My keys to the game
1) I have never used this one before but I think the play calling on offense will be crucial in this game. The Coyotes have so many weapons and they need to use all of them. They shouldn't get too happy with the run up the middle and throw long that they got into quite a bit vs Bowling Green. UND has a good defense so the Yotes cannot make it any easier on them then they need to and by spreading the ball around, short, intermediate and long will keep the Hawks on their heels and not let them get an idea of what the Yotes will do. The screen pass to the side lines should work well and if UND is playing off the line we can take advantage of our athletes on offense and let them catch and run a bit.
2) Special Teams and Turnovers all in one. If the Coyotes can just draw even with ND in these areas I will be satisfied. Our kicking and punting have taken a hit but the question is how much of a hit.
3) Intangibles - will the Coyotes build from their big win at Bowling Green and will they play with a chip on their shoulder after what happened last year at the Alerus Center. No one had UND in the kind of a hole that USD had them in and on their home field.
I basically think the odds should be around 55% to 45% in favor of a Coyote win. I am gonna go 38-24 in favor of the Old Main Red Warriors.

I don't think any of you Yote fans realize how terrible UND was playing til the 4th quarter of our game against you. We played 0 good quarters against Stony Brook or BGSU to start last season. We were a mess. Also I always laugh when you guys say we were gifted the game. We made the plays. We weren't handed a damn thing.
