Does anyone have any info/stats on Streveler's pick-6 habit from early in the year vs. late in the year vs. this season? In fairness to all the UND fans, they have no idea of the context of Streveler's rocky start to the season last year throwing the ball, and thus they will naturally assume their DB made a great play. No reason to assume they know as much about the Yotes as we do. Anyway, it would be fun to see the passing progression, if someone is willing to pull it together. I think this has more to do with the types of throws Strev is completing this season vs the beginning of last season. Specifically, in the UND game, the pick 6 throws happened when Strev tried to make a long out-route pass. This season he has done his damage with intermediate throws, 10-20 yards, across the middle or up the seam, and also pushing the ball down the sideline. I'd imagine UND is going to try and force him to make those long out-route throws.

I also think a lot of those INT issues early in the season last year was Streveler getting spooked, locking in on his receivers, or guessing on his throws because of protection issues. How many times did we see one read and then bail last year? First drive against UNI when he ran for the long TD. One read and bail because the pocket was collapsing. This year he has had a little more time and is staying in the pocket a little longer and going thru his progressions a little more.

No reason to assume they know as much about the Yotes as we do. Anyway, it would be fun to see the passing progression, if someone is willing to pull it together. UND can understand as well as anyone what it is like to have a QB off to a rocky start. Studsrud had a really rough start last season until late in the game vs USD, then he started playing much better. The thing is pick 6's and often interceptions in general, are off of poorly thrown balls or bad decisions, but the defense recognizing an opportunity, and taking advantage of it is what changes this from purely a bad mistake on the offense to a solid play by the defense. What makes UND fans so confident in that our defense was "making plays" as opposed to purely Streveler having an off game is that UND did that all season long. Interceptions and Fumble recovery's were not isolated to the USD game, it was the bread and butter of our defense. The two pick 6's were also made by the top two players on defense that are projected to be playing on Sunday's. First Safety Coley Reyes, who you will see against on Saturday. Then by Deion Harris, who had several interceptions and pick 6s over the course of the year, who is out for the season. All this being said, the key for our defense is going to be to not let Streveler breathe on Saturday. The kid is way to dangerous, and giving him time, or space, or both is a recipe for disaster. That being said, UND is a better team than Bowling Green, especially on defense. This will definitely be a fun game, likely with playoff/seeding implications.

North Dakota guy here! Can't wait for the weekend! Making the trip down. Should be an excellent game to watch. My question to you guys is what's the tailgating scene/spots like for the visiting teams? We have a 19 passenger bus coming, and always love doing a lil tailgating before games. Thank You! Did you get my message?

Question for the fighting barn swallows.
How many pick 6's did your defense get last season other than the 2 from USD?

Could've s, would'ves and should'ves. The fact is we didn't finish the deal. 2017 maybe can become the year where the corner is turned and we take care of business.
We need to win. Period

Question for the fighting barn swallows. How many pick 6's did your defense get last season other than the 2 from USD? I believe it was four Pick 6s on the year, and 20 Interceptions total. 1 against Bowling Green, 2 against USD, 1 against NAU. 3 by Deion Harris, 1 by Cole Reyes.

I swear to God I am going to pistol whip the next guy that says something about interceptions being lucky... Pffft, UND got lucky. Those interceptions were practically handoffs.

How does the USD secondary look this season. UND's passing game has definitely been improving, and I'm curious how it will match up as defenses can no longer account for just the run against us.
Watch for the names, Wanzek, Toivenen, Mercer, possibly Adeoti.

What's a good place to stop in the earlier hours and grab pizza or wings or something for tailgating? What time does the tailgating lots open?

Casey's breakfast pizza, of course. Don't worry, you'll be in the MVFC and figure out our ways soon enough.
