geauxsioux, You can call it what you want and explain it how you want but I would venture to guess that most Hawks fans would admit that UND got at least a little bit lucky to win that game with their huge comeback. I will say the same thing about the Coyotes when we beat Weber State the week before that. Whatever happened is in the past but last year should be branded into the minds of the Coyote players and coaches after what occurred on that day. The game could go either way but don't be surprised if the score get a little more in favor of the Coyotes then most UND fans think it will. First home game, revenge, the crowd, and energetic Coyote defense are all big factors in this game. I just think the emotional aspect will be hugely in favor of the Coyotes. Who knows if it plays out that way but I have a hard time seeing UND really getting a hold of the Coyote passing game. We will see of course but there are a lot of advantages for the Yotes on Saturday. According to this very scientific poll, 76% of people in Siouxsports agree with me. forum.siouxsports.com/topic/24851-did-we-get-lucky-against-the-yotes-last-year/?tab=comments#comment-961691

I am guessing that over 90% of UND fans think they will win on saturday as well. Certainly 90% could not possibly be wrong could they.

Does anyone have any info/stats on Streveler's pick-6 habit from early in the year vs. late in the year vs. this season?
In fairness to all the UND fans, they have no idea of the context of Streveler's rocky start to the season last year throwing the ball, and thus they will naturally assume their DB made a great play. No reason to assume they know as much about the Yotes as we do.
Anyway, it would be fun to see the passing progression, if someone is willing to pull it together.

I think looking up the numbers would be more of a formality then anything but if anyone wants to do the work go ahead. About mid season he really did a good job of turning the interception problem around. Give credit to him and the coaching on that. For me it really comes down to consistency on offense. Nothing against the UND defense but the Coyotes thrashed Illinois State, UNI and Western Illinois at home last year in the first half and had problems holding onto the lead. That is more of a Coyote problem then what the opponents were doing. If the Coyotes can learn to play more effectively with the lead I really like SD's chances. If USD can be effective against those mid level Valley teams then they should have similar success against UND. The turnovers and special teams scare me the most as far as the most likely way the Coyotes would lose this game. This is just one of those games where I have a feeling everything goes USD's way as far as the breaks go. Obviously we will see.

You could only get 76% of an incredibly slanted population to agree?

Streveler threw 4 pick-sixes last year, all coming in the early 3 game stretch of Weber, UND, Youngstown. He would only throw 4 more INTs the rest of the season - 2 coming against SIU, 1 against UNI, 1 against SDSU. Even with the early struggles he only threw 2 INTs at home all season, 1 in each of the first 2 home games (he did miss Illinois State).
