Hopeless is exactly right. For years people said the students left because the team was bad, there's literally no excuse at this point. There are some diehards over there but the only thing that will get all of them to stay is a culture change. I don't think anything short of multiple national championships will bring that.

Spent the weekend in New England, fall colours, awesome. Still would have exchanged it in a heart beat to be in Vermillion for the beauty of it all, DDays and Yotes kickin' A !!!
Got my tickets for 11/18. Lot of tough work for the Yotes to do before then, but I'm looking forward to it!

Time to start selling part of the student section seats to people who want to watch the entire game.

Make it so exclusive of an event that students will WANT to come and stay for the whole game. Limit the tickets students can get and sell the rest to people who want to be there and have good seats. No way they let students have seats between the 30 yd lines once they put in the permanent seating on the west side. Nor have the students earned it either.

At Nebraska they moved a bunch of season ticket seats from the back of the student section to the front, effectively pushing the students back from the front railing. I hate to see that kind of crap, because having a bunch of rowdy students close to the field is part of what adds atmosphere to a CFB game. Students leaving early has always been a problem, though. Many students just have the motivation of getting back to drinking and partying. Especially on D-Days. I don't know the solution. Culture change doesn't happen overnight.

I agree about not having the student section between the 30's. Those seats will have high demand for season tickets. Don't push the students back away from the railing, though. That would only make it less desirable for them to go to games, and would dampen the atmosphere. I'd make sure the band and student section are next to each other, as they feed off of each other.

I have seen at other universities where students check in after the game and any student who attends each game and checks in at the end every game is entered into a drawing for 1 year of free tuition.

Several years ago they gave away a semester of free tuition during the 4th quarter. Students had to present to win... Majority of students would leave right after they announced the winner...

This is a good idea for less hyped games. It is Hobo Day Saturday so I'd bet there are a lot of U students who will go to the farm up north. I heard the student section at the Dyke was desolate which I'm sure many of their students were in Verm on Sat.

I'm watching the game replay this morning as a lead up to a full day of MLB playoffs. I remember this 2nd half being much more tense in real time. Our defense is so much better than in previous years, that is the difference in this team. The O can score, they've always been able to score, it's the D getting stops and at the very least limiting the other team's production. The student section across the way looks bad. I initially thought more students stayed for the second half, I guess I was wrong. If students can't stay for the second half of a game of this magnitude what will get them to stay? They are kind of hopeless. More students stayed for the second half then I expected. When I watched the replay the thing that really stuck out to me was how loud the crowd was on the tv broadcast. During some of the touchdowns the roars were super loud. As I write this Matt Zimmer is commenting on the Coyotes. The thing he said was that the Coyotes don't have a Dallas Goddart or Jake Weineke but they hit you with so much speed from everywhere and run a very fast paced offense. He mentioned that if the Yotes could do that vs a Bo Pelini defense that they are obviously for real. He said that he doesn't recall watching a team (I am assuming in FCS) that has as much overall team speed then what the Coyotes have. Very validating comments from Zimmer.

Anyone find an article with any of Bo’s post game thoughts? Or did the locker get the only post game feedback he had?

If you were listening to Kwsn, that was Zach Borg from KDLT who said all that.

Just re-watching the game video and have a few thoughts; . Although it was a team effort, I'd have to say the difference in the game is USD OL OUTPLAYED YSU OL. . Strevelor is Strevelor... outstanding heart and the leader of the team. . Both coaching staffs are incredible in their recruiting and coaching, including in game adjustments. A big compliment to USD considering they're playing a top FBS staff (x n o wise... I'm staying out of the character issue because I just don't know enough about it and i don't want to know on this board, thank u). . HARD to notice but this staff really has all the players on the same page and is trying to rotate everybody in to develop the team depth and you really didn't notice a drop off. Kudos. On to other misc... . Give the student attendance a rest...I agree with some other posts here... you build it and they will come. We don't need any unnecessary revolts. This is THEIR TEAM and this game is THEIRS TO MAKE IT WHAT THEY WANT! . I'm not so sure we would have won this in Youngstown... but it's a W against a top FCS/MVFC opponent... I'll take it. It's a learning experience that made the team stronger. They'll take things away from this game and grow as a team. Overall; . WHAM!!! USD is for real!!! They're going to have their troubles but have so far posted a BIG W behind the troubles...THE TEAM HAS LEARNED HOW TO WIN!!! ... HOW TO DIG DEEP AND MAKE IT HAPPEN!!! Don't underestimate that trait... all great teams have it!

The student section wasn't going to be full, might as well sell some of the seats. And since $5 is needed to secure those seats the people are more likely to stay in the stands after half.
